Both UK political parties are competing to see who can screw over older folks the most now. I said this was coming when Boomers started fading, and Gen X started ageing into that role. Millennials and Gen Z want to punish Boomers and take their money, but Boomers were too strong, so they just transferred that hostility to the one Gen that got shafted even worse than they did by those Boomers, Gen X. Gen X always gets fucked both ways, simply because we are not numerous enough, connected enough, or wealthy enough, to fight back.

I may be left wing as fuck, but even I think that if millionaires or billionaires paid into the national insurance fund then they deserve to get their state pension. They paid for it, same as real people did. Refusing to pay out and calling it means testing is just naked theft by government. Also, I think billionaires should all be shot for being greedy bastards. But they still paid their pension contributions and should get their state pension while the firing squad is assembled.

I'm still not over the fact that Sir Keir Starmer is an AI bro now. I'm genuinely wondering if he would have gotten into NFTs had it not been made apparent how much of a scam it is in recent years.

It would very much surprise me if he wasn't. He is exactly the sort of shallow, opportunistic, grifter who would absolutely leap on any bandwagon he thought would get him an ounce of popularity. He has no political philosophy whatsoever.

Oldest Gen X are only 61 this year, not even to retirement age. "Elderly" are all boomer with a few Silent Generation left. (I say this as someone solidly in Gen X. We're not getting particularly fucked over, just ignored.)

You know they are talking about policies that would take about five-ten years to develop and implement, right? You are not so dense as to not know how political parties develop and implement structural changes to an established economic system. These are absolutely targeted to come into force just when Gen X hits retirement age.

It is official. Russia now solidly controls over a fifth of Ukraine according to the BBC and Guardian. And Ukraine is fighting back by creating its own penal battalions formed of soldiers who had previously deserted the Ukrainian army. So things look super great there right now. The slow grind sadly favors Putin and Russia.

Everyone in geopolitics knows you suck up to your largest geopolitical neighbor, Ukraine, despite being in Russia's sphere of influence chose to try sucking up to nations on the other side of an ocean. If you haven't seen Belle of the Ranch (formerly Beau of the Fifth Column) videos of late, my opinion is you're missing out. Her approach has been almost soothing while still being clear on points to weigh as you make decisions on everything from finances to civic engagement. I admit I've watched this particular video more than once because she takes aim at more defeatist mindsets that have proliferated online.
