yes, I regularly switch hands when doing outoor labor - raking, shoveling, etc. it really helps my back to not have all the stress on one side with such repetitive motion, and I've been doing it around 10 years now so I'm no longer as weak on my off side. output is roughly equal now.

Huh, I didn't think of this an example of handedness. I always change over when gardening because I have arthritis in both wrists and my lower back and they need a rest sometimes. But now that you mention it, I think most people do gardening with one hand dominant.

They do (stay with a dominant side), I can attest as my partner who sometimes has to help with snow just. Can't. No amount of trying has made them capable of switching like I can, and we talk about how much it would help with sciatica if they could. It only seems to work with large-scale simple movements, I can't even switch hands for sewing or chopping vegetables or anything fine.
