When I was younger, I didn't think sports fandoms and Bandoms counted as "real fandoms" because "music and sports are cool, fandom is supposed to be nerdy."

Thank God tumblr didn't exist yet.

Honestly, I didn't make the connection either until a comedian pointed out that sports fans are nerdy as hell. Or at least as obsessed with their hobby as much as other nerds are.
