... but you wouldn't mind if someone else made them for you! As always, including the fandom and full character names is a big help, and while I'm definitely not the world's greatest expert at secret design, I'll try my best. Please note that long comment secrets can be difficult to make with a good end result. Most of the time, I'll give it a shot but might not be able to make secrets where the text is so lengthy that I can't fit it into the limited space.

I'm trying something new with the comment secret thread and extending the deadline to comment until Sunday's post goes up. I'll monitor this thread until then, and hope the extra day will be more helpful for everyone.

P.S. Please don't worry if you've submitted a secret and it hasn't been posted yet. I usually post these threads before running out of the previous batch of secrets to get a head start on the next batch.

I’ve started leaving anonymous comments and kudos on my own fanfics. It makes me feel less sad about having zero comments and kudos, plus I like to think of it as present me congratulating past me for finishing something.

I miss having 5 channels on the TV and no streaming. Or rather, I miss having a set TV schedule someone else filled with reruns and weekly shows; now, instead of knowing and looking forward to watching a show of an evening, or just being able to be judgy about what's on, I either have to search for half an hour for something I'm "in the mood" to watch or carry on with a binge and be judgy about my own tastes.

I don't remember typing this. But I must've, because I really feel this too.

Remember when TV would sign off for the night? And it was all snow until like 5 or 6 am?

I want more shows set in nice little wholesome seaside towns which don't have appalling murder rates.

But it should be rocky coasts, not sandy beaches.

I know, this is incredibly specific of me.

I buy a lot of books and manga.

Lately I've taken to pirating those same books/manga to read on my ipad. My reasoning is thus:

1. Most sites don't have same-day shipping, so I get impatient waiting for new books to arrive

2. It keeps the physical book pristine, so when it arrives it usually just goes straight onto the bookshelf without me ever cracking it open

Actually, I think Goldfinger is one of the weaker Bond films or any era.

If a fic writer has an author's note, especially a snippy one, that says that other fic writers can't write any sort of continuation or sequel to their story, I think they are either a hugely arrogant hypocrite or have very little self-awareness. I'll likely still read their story, though I think less of them.

Recently, a trailer/short clip for Genshin Impact was released that made so many people in the fandom go "OMG HUGE LORE DROP" and after I watched it, all I could think was "who the fuck are these people". I actually had to read up on the lore because the plot in GI is so bland and lacklustre that I either didn't pay attention or forgot a whole bunch of things. Also, while I understand why those characters are all similar looking women, I'm still so damn tired of the full on waifu clam chowder this game has become that I'm just annoyed.

When I was younger, I didn't think sports fandoms and Bandoms counted as "real fandoms" because "music and sports are cool, fandom is supposed to be nerdy."

Thank God tumblr didn't exist yet.

I can only get into fandoms for tv shows.

Occasionally there is the rare exception of a movie or a video game, but I can never get into fandoms for books no matter how much I love them.

I have no idea why my brain works this way.

I use my current fandom crush/obsession as motivation to stay healthy.

I tell myself I need to continue with my hobbies and exercise etc because if I were to ever naturally meet X in the wild I would want to be someone they'd want to be friends with.

Which makes no sense for a multitude of reasons, but I keep at it because it is the only thing that seems to work against my depression/apathy.

I think if a twist or a story element was rejected back in the 1970s in the Tom Baker Comedy Half Hour era of Doctor Who, it should be rejected out of hand in the current era too.

I used to love Gene Hunt from Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes, but I rewatched recently and... well, ACAB. That is all.

I never used to think Daria was a smug, sanctimonious, little shit until I rewatched the series recently after a ten year absence.

"I'm Pandora. I'm useless." was the most relatable thing in all of Skins.

I first heard about the show You when I randomly came across an article about Penn Badgley schooling fans on Twitter, basically shaming them for romanticizing Joe.

This disgusted me so much that I couldn't watch the show for several years. When I finally did, I liked it. But I'll always think Badgley is an asshole. Why couldn't he just let the fans enjoy their harmless thirst?

I wish actors (and directors, and writers, etc) didn't comment on fandom.

Spoilers for Rapport, the most recent Murderbot short story:

I'm glad ART/Murderbot shippers are happy, but all the story did was confirm that I'm not into The Murderbot Diaries for shipping. And I'm also glad I've only peeked at the fandom, because damn, the romo vs. no-romo fighting is vicious!

Helluva Boss is the first fandom in well over a decade where I'm active outside of reading/writing fic and watching fanvids.

Helluva Boss fandom is also reminding me why I usually stick with only fic and fanvids.

Yeah, yeah, loud minority drowning out the silent majority, yadda, yadda... but Christ on a stick, if that loud minority could chill out it would be very appreciated. The show is 18+! How the hell are all these supposed adults stuck at the media literacy level of a twelve year old?!
