If you have an Aldi near you, try all their knockoff versions of stuff. Not everything is exactly like name brand, but a lot of it is close enough or different-but-okay and it's MUCH cheaper. They've got a dupe of Dave Killer's bread that's cheaper and great for toast or sandwiches, usually a decent price on milk/dairy, eggs, and reasonable cost on meat. A lot of people get scared off by the stigma of it being the place where poor people shop, but don't let that snobbery cheat you out of saving money in this friggin' economy. Bring a quarter and your own bags, though.
