My older sister introduced me to fandom when I was nine - we were hardcore Mulder and Scully shippers (still are). To her, fandom was a phase. To me, it became a part of life. She knows this.

So why is she constantly nagging me to watch shows when she knows we watch them differently?! I'm so tired of finally giving in and watching whole seasons, then wanting to talk about it with her only to find out it was an interest for like a week and she doesn't even remember a bunch of stuff that happened. It's like she wants to feel a bit of that old fandom fervor from someone but then drop it. I'm tired of being her random hit of fandomy enthusiasm.

Can't tell her this because I love her and texting is how we stay close when physically apart. If I ask her to stop texting recs to me I know she'll take it personally, and I don't have the energy for her to be offended at me.

It's wild to see the ST fandom ending go through all the other shit endings

Makes me glad I stopped watching seasons ago. I just knew the Duffer Bros didn't know how to end it and it wouldn't be worth it to keep watching to get a satisfying ending.

I'm not into this show, I just don't care for most modern-setting media it tends to bore me to tears and I know this would be no different.

This isn't the secret, the secret is that I'm already starting to get a knee-jerk irritation response to seeing gifs/stills of the show because the people really into it are starting to pull that 'this is IMPORTANT to watch and if you don't you're a homophobe!' rhetoric that is both boring an irritating for this queer to witness once again.

No this piece of horny gay media is not going to revolutionise the world, and people not caring about it isn't problematic or whatever else.

I've been steadily blocking anyone who starts posting or reblogging things like that so I don't get grumpy at a TV show that has done nothing but garner some annoying fans.

I haven't gone near the HP fandom since 2014, but tbh I really miss the fan theories and the fanfics born from them prior the last book's release. I was getting all my fics from ffnet at the time and there were some great stuff coming out.

I always felt like people were pretty Snape-centered. Maybe that's just where I was on the internet, though
