Socialism doesn't make people immune to a "white man's burden" mindset, the USSR was communist and they believed they had a duty to civilize parts of the continent and get rid of practices and cultures they considered barbaric and backwards. It really comes down to if you can find value in cultures that are different from yours.

USSR had one of the best programms for preservation of small languages and traditional ways of life. It also never reached communism. Communism was an ideal. These facts are pretty well known so you sound like an idiot, to put it straight.
