I would've sworn someone did, and I made the secret. But when it came time to submit it, I went to copy and paste the text as part of the transcript and I could not for the life of me find the original comment. Either I've missed it (very possible), or it was deleted? I've decided not to submit it in case someone changed their mind, which happens from time to time.

Weekend Plans?

What is everyone doing this weekend?

It is supposed to be snowing all weekend so I'll be staying inside. We are going to make chili and I'll be working on my stegosaurus. I'll also be trying WoW Classic with my sister.

I've had a plumber at my house all day trying to fix a busted sewer line and he just left (at 6:30pm). It has been a very stressful day. He is coming back tomorrow to work on it some more. :(

Well my card got scammed and someone in Maryland tried to use it. Luckily my bank spotted the fraud straight away, froze my account and it's being investigated, I'm getting a new card in 10 days. So I'm not doing much of anything besides staying home and doing housework.

I'm in Australia for the record and have never set foot in the US.

Keeping warm (though I live in CA so it's nothing like the merry hell people east of the Mississippi are getting!), working on that keyboard (I'm actually making good progress on soldering all those little hot-swap sockets). Sunday a semi-local theatre is showing Charade on a big screen, which my husband and I might go to see (sure, it's public domain and I can find a clean copy on YouTube, but regular movie viewing with the right crowd is fun).

Just bracing for this extreme weather, whatever it’s going to be. Today I drove to my dad’s to drop off a bunch of canned soups I made yesterday because last night on the phone I learned he didn’t really have anything but a loaf of bread and frozen dinners. I know he eats out a lot but didn’t realize he wasn’t prepared for this at all. If we get ice, I won’t be able to go to him so at least I can rest a little easier knowing he has something to eat. And he has a gas range so he’ll be ok on that front.

All that to say that tomorrow I’m making and canning a bunch of soup again. I’m also taking my dog hiking for two hours because we need the exercise and it will be a nice break from the kitchen, plus our last chance to be out in a sane climate for a while. I love the cold but my dog doesn’t and it’s going to be a challenge getting him out the door again starting Sunday LOL

I'm in the zone for the snowstorm, unfortunately, so my plans are to brace for it and hope the power stays on. Seriously hoping we DON'T get a foot of snow like the forecast keeps mentioning. I got groceries several days ago so at least I didn't have to rush out and deal with crowds of panicked shoppers buying the last loaf of bread.

We've got cold wave I am kinda excited.
Planning to go to a collage master-class, I wanted to do one for sometime because I have a weird mental block about doing one. Also I wanted to go to an English club just to talk for a bit, but dunno about timing.

I, too, am awaiting Stormageddon. Might try to make a superfluous Aldi trip in the morning. Then just gonna lose myself in some mindless crafting.

They've called school here until Wednesday, so thankfully I can relax at home regardless of the outcome. Possibly without power, but that might be a blessing in disguise.

I've never had the misfortune of seeing the second one. It makes no sense. For protesting to be effective, it has to include as many people as possible from the community regardless of how they look.

I feel like you may have encountered some Russain bots. Or at least I'm hoping you did because it makes me sick to think a real human being would have such a fundamental misunderstanding of how protesting works.

I'm glad to see more white folks protesting in the streets. If that were the ONLY thing they were doing, of course it'd be performative. I don't think it is, however, and automatically making that assumption isn't great. I imagine those who do are either bots or someone who not only wants to see everything burned to the ground, but doesn't have the courage to do it themselves.

They're protesting but a majority are also playing the part of community and protecting their neighbours and schools and businesses.

If you wouldn't protect those near you don't be a whiny bitch about how others are protesting.

Never seen the second one, agree it makes no sense and probably isn't real people.

If anything, using white privilege to protest is a great use OF white privilege right now because they're way more likely to target and attack non-white people.

I haven't heard the second, but I can see the point. If you're out protesting, then (1) you're presumably in no danger of deportation or law enforcement profiling, and (2) you're presumably not working more than one job to pay bills in this economy.
