Use fandom tags. People will find you.

Why are you assuming they didn't tag?

Because if they tag, people looking at that tag will see it. People tend to follow tags more than people on Tumblr.

Doesn't mean they will get liked or reblogged.

More likely to get at least a like. And the way OP framed it, it sounds like they think that only people who follow them can see their stuff.

Also be aware that if you use certain tags, your post won't be seen. if you include tags like "my post" or "nsfw" or even sometimes certain characters' names, it won't show in the tag and people won't see it. tumblr was gotten really stupid about its tag system since whenever it banned porn.

I never cared that I have only one follower on tumblr. We do not share any fandoms. But for the first time in ten years, I found an active fandom I want to participate in. I posted a few takes. They will never get a single like or reblog. That stings.

I don't have any fandom followers on tumblr for my current fandom, but with the magic of tags, my one fandom shitpost got seen by plenty of people.

I rarely got anything when I first started out. Turns out tumblr had shadowbanned me. Nothing I posted showed up in the tags at all.

Yup tumblr absolutely can shadowban, you can write to help about it, and they will unban... some day.

But also from the language used it seems like OP does not know about tags. If it's a big fandom you absolutely get at least couple of likes

tumblr makes you wait a few days or a week before your posts appear in tags. i assume it's to discourage bots but obviously it doesn't work. you also have to be careful about what tags you use. you can't include the tag "my post" or "my face" or "me" because the tumblr auto system associates those tags (along with anything remotely sexual and even some character names) with pornographic content and you won't see your post in the fandom tags.

I know the GBM judges are scripted to ask questions like this, but Michael O'Hare asking if this chef's serving platter with fake grass was "too gimmicky" for a theme of summer and Wimbledon when he himself served his raw langoustine starter in a giant space egg with a personal photo collage on the inside just FLOORED ME. Like how can you agree to call anyone's props gimmicky after that? And to present it to Marcus Wareing of all chefs...

I actually think more shows should have judges that competed on the show in the past so you can have more moments of "Really? You're complaining about that given what you did?"

One of the biggest authors for a tiny fandom I like only writes in first person. I DESPISE first person POV in fic and hate I can't read her fics because they sound interesting.

I gotta agree. I don't enjoy first person much *at all*. I've only ever read one author's stuff that does that that I like - Dick Francis, English author of mystery novels centered around steeplechase racing.
All others...meh.

I feel this, OP. I can't do first person, it just doesn't work for me. There are things that sound like they'd be a great read, except that every time I've tried first person, I just find myself thrown out of the narrative. It just doesn't work for me, no matter how good the writing.

I just can't wrap my brain around wanting to set fanfic in first person, like...which character are you writing as? okay willing to bet you can't get into their head like you think you can. unless you're writing as your mary sue OC who's going to fuck their way through the main cast, then I guess go for it? I ain't gonna read it but you do you boo.

and I say that as a roleplayer, I may try to get into a character's head but my output is still very third person. I write as though someone reading the thread would be reading a third person omniscient story between two characters.

I really enjoyed the first two full cast Harry Potter audiobooks. But I just finished Prisoner of Azkaban, and I didn't like it as much. They did a great job adding sound effects in the first one, but in this one, it feels like most of the sound effects are the trio gasping, panting, moaning, sighing, and groaning as various things happen in the book. Kind of annoying rather than immersive. Hopefully the next books will be better.

I was legit concerned about people saying that Stranger Things had brought back the love triangle for season 5. I hate love triangles in general, but I always thought this one was dumb. I never bought that either of them would fight over Nancy, they barely see her as a person. Likewise, I don't know why Nancy would go for either guy in the early seasons, neither of them are worth it. There's zero chemistry here.

But honestly, season 5 turned out okay in this respect. It's like Jonathan kept trying to make the love triangle and competition a thing, but I didn't really get that vibe from Steve at all. Nancy (quite rightly) didn't give a rat's ass and ignored them both. The "competition" was 100% Jonathan's insecurity, and while the show kind of hinted at that, I'm not sure the message came through strongly enough. It was idiotic to do the triangle at all, though.

The love triangle was actually the only thing I liked about season 1. They were the only characters I didn't either hate or have no impression of, and I thought they worked well together at the end. I didn't like the show enough to watch more seasons, but I wish they could have stayed a trio, whether it was Nancy with one of the guys and their shared bestie, or all three just friends.

I don't see what's wrong with either of the guys. I'm aro and mostly ace, so I'm not projecting any thirst here, I think they're not perfect but would still pretty great to have as friends. I guess you could just be one of those women who thinks every man is worthless and every woman is a goddess who deserves an ideal nonexistent better.

It's a little funny and a little sad watching all the people who totally quit WoW forever over the Blizzard employee sexual harassment scandal come back again and again every time they launch anything new. Especially the ones who berated everyone else and called everyone who didn't unsub horrible people who supported sexual assault.

They came back for SoD, came back for Anni, Mists, Legion Remix... lol. See you in TBC.

I have an ex guildie like this. Tried to pressure everyone to quit and go to FFXIV. Called everybody complicit if they kept playing the game. Every new round of Warcraft stuff, they come crawling back in everyone's DMs asking if we want to join their guild. Nobody ever does

I'm visiting my sister! We are going to play a ton of WoW Classic Burning Crusade. We will also watch the Super Bowl and eat a ton of cheese. Finally, we'll be watching Jurassic Park because we just finished the book!

... but you wouldn't mind if someone else made them for you! As always, including the fandom and full character names is a big help, and while I'm definitely not the world's greatest expert at secret design, I'll try my best. Please note that long comment secrets can be difficult to make with a good end result. Most of the time, I'll give it a shot but might not be able to make secrets where the text is so lengthy that I can't fit it into the limited space.

I'm trying something new with the comment secret thread and extending the deadline to comment until Monday's post goes up. I'll monitor this thread until then, and hope the extra day will be more helpful for everyone.
