Re: How often do you wish you could go back in time and change things?

(Anonymous) 2026-04-13 04:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Every now and again. Not as much as I used to. I used to pass time at work by thinking about all the ways I would have done things differently, from childhood up to my adulthood. A few years ago, I made peace with understanding that there can never be a way to go back and do things differently. What I can do now is find a way to enjoy my life as it is.

It's taken a lot of work, both physically and mentally, but I don't dwell on my regrets as much as I used to.

I do appreciation exercises, positive self-encouragement and practical reminders to stop myself from ruminating and dwelling. My regretful thoughts pop up when I'm feeling insecure and isolated. The remedy for that is to reassure myself that my life isn't as bad as my anxiety is screaming it is.
What works for me might not work for anyone else, and that's OK. Everyone has their own recipe to handle things.

I'm sorry about your regrets nonny. As humans we often make mistakes that are hard to let go. Wishing you some peace, however it will come <3
