Wyll's story feels flatter and kind of half-assed compared to many of the other companions in BG3.

And Wyll would get a lot less complaints from fans for being 'boring' and 'idk he's just annoying' if he was white.

Both of these concepts can exist at the same time.

And tbh I didn’t even find him boring, I liked how sweet he was and he was my third romanced character for a reason. I will agree on his romance story feeling a lot less put together, idk if they fixed it but for me his romantic greeting line was bugged and never fired for me even when I got towards the end of the game which was just kind of disappointing truth be told. I had Shadowheart and Lae’zel give me romance greetings but Wyll was just ‘well met’ until I got to the epilogue.

I mean, yes, but...

The reason Wyll feels flat and underdeveloped is because hewas heavily rewritten in early access. Why? Because people were bitching that they found him "arrogant".

So even when they weren't using "boring" as a justification, they still found a reason to hate on him, and only him.

There's no removing the fact that the underdeveloped character Wyll is now came about as a direct result of people already hating on him before any of those supposed issues ever existed.

Everything about fandom's treatment of Wyll is rooted in racism. There's just no getting around that.

He's the only guy in camp who doesn't annoy me, honestly.

I can't stand the guy because they spelt his name with a Y. Like I know it's fantasy land and all but ugh dumb spellings like that really grate on me.

I went into the game entirely blind and my character ended up falling head over heels for Wyll- tied in very well to the story I was roleplaying for my Tav, too. Everything about fan reception for his character took me by surprise, to be honest.

It drives me crazy how the miniseries is always forgotten. It never gets mentioned in articles talking about the new movies, they are only ever compared to the Lynch movie. This is hands down the best adaption. But I guess it doesn't count because it is tv?

Uh, yeah. When talking about movies they tend to just talk about the movies. I can understand thinking they should mention all adaptations and I’ve seen the miniseries mentioned a lot in that context. But it was a limited availability adaptation in a very different format than David Lynch’s famously terrible adaptation and the current film series that is adapting the universe, not just one book.

I know that Matt and Serena are the likely endgame pairing, and I like both characters a lot. However… I really think they’d be better as friends.

I agree, she is way too cute for him.

Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan as James Bond really do draw the distinction between fashionable and stylish. Moore was an icon of Fashion, and really was the most Fashionable Bond, but Brosnan was the most stylish. Fashion and style, there is a difference.

I enjoyed Top Chef soooooooo much more now that the contestants get along and the drama isn't hyped up between them. Yeah, focusing on cliques and mean characters doesn't actually show off the cooking talent on your show or give you any industry credibility. Friendly seasons = best seasons.

It's still a favorite show, one of the best written I've ever watched.
But the older I get, the harder it is to get through the series. The show's bad/sad shit hit my emotions more. I keep realizing certain characters will soon die/betray, or even seeing Tony/Meadow/Uncle Junior lose their souls as the series goes on, makes me really sad.

The show is doing what it's meant to be doing, but I can't handle super dark stuff the same ways anymore. Like, damn, the mob life (and America) is depressing AF.
