I wholeheartedly share your hatred for M/F smut, for many of those same reasons, among others.

That said, if you are into M/F on a conceptual level, and just want something a little less 'traditional uncomfortable power dynamics', the "femdom" tag might be a little closer to your field of interest.

(Anonymous) 2026-04-25 06:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Standard M/F smut blindly incorporates maledom kink without realizing its a kink, created and consumed by people with the maledom kink that don't think of it as kink and don't portray or regard it as such.

It's very funny to me

I want a limited TV series of the book Vicious. They could do the other books as one season each if they wanted, but the first book would be a great 6 or 8 episode series.

This right here. It basically assumes sex, even non-kinky sex, always involves male dom. Just weird and annoying. I'll happily take full on M/F male dom of that, at least then the rules are there and it isn't pretending to be something it isn't.

+1

Reminder: "Secrets you don't want to make..." thread is still up!

Secret 1 is not showing for me, I just see the postimage error graphic

(Anonymous) 2026-04-25 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
As a fellow fan, there is cuter fanart, lol. It might be the same artist, though?

(Anonymous) 2026-04-25 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
It does that for me sometimes, then corrects itself upon a refresh or two.

I'm still waiting on a decent Animorphs adaptation

I wish young men would stop thinking irl sex is anything like porn, and that young (?) women would stop thinking irl sex is anything like in smutty booktok bestsellers.

When you find a truly good partner to bump uglies with you can and should talk about sex and your expectations, triggers, non-negotiables and kinks with them FIRST.

There are aspects in boning that not the horny books nor porn will show. Weird sounds, positions not working or getting tiring, awkwardness and fumbling. But if you are with a good partner, there's also joy and laughter, discovery and delight :)

Star Wars is a lot of things. And I'd argue that Andor is helping to set up the hope of the OT, just showing more of what it takes to actually get there. I do find all the hate of the sequels tiring, though.

Question for WWE Fans

I know there are a few here. I was wondering, have any of you heard of the wrestling journalist Larry Csonka?

I'm excited we're finally getting a Mistborn adaption. I'd like to see other Sanderson adaptions as well.

I'd love to see a Pern tv show, that could be fun.

I've seen this too and I think Case mentioned it recently, but sometimes there's a lag for some reason? The glitch seems to resolve itself within a few minutes, though.

(Anonymous) 2026-04-25 07:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Sports reporting is spoilers now?

(Anonymous) 2026-04-25 07:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh saaaaame. I don't mind men being growly, dominant, and possessive - but only when they're doing it to other men.

It's so boring in a het relationship because most of the media, and society at large, treats it as if it were expected, as if it were a relationship standard, when it's actually a kink - and until society changes (I'm not gonna hold my breath), I'm going to hate it in het ships.

I'd love an Assassin's Creed tv series, but I think the costuming budget would be prohibitively expensive.

Eh, there is gentle vanilla m/f smut too. That's what I read.

+100

(Anonymous) 2026-04-25 08:09 pm (UTC)(link)
This sounds like a major case of confirmation bias to me. People are more prone to notice criticism, etc. when it's directed at what they like and it's much easier to ignore it when it isn't directed at something you like.

Also, if you can't see any of the bullying that others are complaining about, chances are extremely high that you are one of the bullies other people are complaining about.

I think it’s actually one of the earliest forms of “spoiler-aversion” that I remember from decades ago.

There’s a funny bit in the show SportsNight where one of the anchors wants to avoid knowing anything about one particular game so he can watch the recording with his new girlfriend after the show. (They get the other anchor to report on that segment, while Dan is just offscreen, wearing muffling headphones.)

I think I understand the fear, but I would like to say that in my experience, there are so so many heterosexual men out in the real world who aren’t anything like that in their sex lives.

So I hope you don’t let it psych you out too much.

(Anonymous) 2026-04-25 08:25 pm (UTC)(link)
It's just... ironic to pick the ONE thing that gets reported in papers, on tv, on the radio. Movie reviews don't do that. TV schedules don't do that. Book reviews don't do that. It's a well known societal expectation that sports events be broadcast far and wide, so to choose to get into that and call such things "spoilers" baffles me.
