Yeah, if you watch TW just for Jack/Ianto, you're absolutely going to be disappointed. Jack's immortal and he loves lots and lots of people. And aliens. And ... other things. Basically, he's a great big space ho.

Eventually. But there's plenty of shagging good times to be had before then, and I think he was flirting with Cat-nurse right up to the last minute.

No peen=no SEXY shagging. And who knows what'll happen at the end of Tennant's Who run? Jack might show up just to become a head and Torchwood will turn into the baby fun show. I trust nothing.

I wouldn't be surprised if he managed to do something by rubbing those tentacles against the glass. If there's even an iota of Jack in there, he'll find a way to get off.

I honestly doubt JB's appearance in part two is going to be a direct move to Face of Boe. I say we get real!Jack with new piece of arse (hallelujah) and then a run-off a la The Stolen Earth because the Doctor is in trouble and we all know he'll leave anyone and everyone for the Doctor.

lol trueXD Doesn't make the love less meaningful, at least not to me. I have no illusions about Ianto being different from anyone else in terms of love, because in real life that's often not how it happens. Doesn't mean you're not in love or don't love the person, just that life must go on, and in Jack's case, forever. /rant

Jack loves all of them. And he always will. Poor bastard. It so sucks to be Jack.

I know. I don't get the hate for him. I love his character. He isn't perfect, which is why he is so great. And yeah, think about what he has gone throughD: and will probably continue to go through:(

Yeah, I don't really like Jack all that much but I always feel sad for him. He really is all alone for eternity, because the only other being with a really long lifespan (the Doctor) thinks he's creepy and keeps pushing him away. In fact his situation is worse than the Doctor's, even, because at least the Doctor will die in the end and his personality changes with each regen. Whereas Jack is stuck like that FOREVER.

I actually wish that he really is the Face of Boe, because at least he doesn't have to go on like that indefinitely.

Oh I think he loves- I think it's *obvious*. He loved Ianto. He loved Owen. He loved Tosh. He loves Gwen. He loves the Doctor, and Rose, and Martha. He wanted to love his daughter. I think he's just- really epically BAD at it.

Ehh, I'm not so sure. Might just be Barrowman's bad acting, though. What love I felt from Jack for Ianto in series two seemed to have turned into pure annoyance in CoE. I'm sure he's fond of people and feel responsible for the ones he's brought into the world and pulled into the Torchwood life, but I can't see any real love. Lust for Gwen, perhaps, or love, but I can't really tell. The Doctor and Rose, probably, but then he became damaged.

Oh he's seriously damaged, which is why he does shit like bringing Owen back from the dead because he's "not ready" to lose him. I definitely didn't see annoyance in CoE between him and Ianto. I'm not an OTP'er but I thought his feelings were pretty clear. He's just- so fucked up. I wish the writing before CoE had been more consistent, and yeah, I wish Barrowman had more skills. But there's so much THERE- I guess that's what fanfic is for.

I just don't see any love from Jack's side in CoE until after Ianto is dead. I know people who hadn't watched series one and two who were confused about why Jack was so upset about Ianto dying since he hadn't shown much love or even interest in him earlier in CoE.

I can agree with you about wishing the writing had been more consistant. If the Jack/Ianto relationship in series one and two had been more like the one we were shown in CoE, there probably wouldn't be as many upset Jack/Ianto fans.

Ok, now I'm just CONFUSED.

In the beginning of CoE, they talk about being a couple, and they have that passionate kiss before Jack blows himself up, and when Jack finds out Gwen is pregnant, he says to Ianto "We're having a baby" like it's the three of theirs, and- sure, Jack isn't the most expressive guy on the planet, but I do not buy into the "Jack was mean to poor Ianto who loved him" theory of fandom.

I think we were supposed to understand that Jack didn't want to care about Ianto as much as he wound up doing, because he knew it had to end badly. Cause it's *always* gonna end badly for Jack, seeing as he can't ever die.

My husband never watched an ep of TW before CoE and he got that Jack/Ianto were in love. So. Some of this can be blamed on writing/acting. I guess the rest is just personal interpretation.
