OMG Thank you! It's so nice to see someone say that Leonard is nice. I mean, duh, yes, he has his moments, but he has a good heart and is a genuinely decent guy. Sometimes I think I'm the only one who thinks that, though. :(

I can't 'ship it, because Sheldon's so obviously asexual and I LIKE that they've gone there and written someone that way on a TV show!

Not to mention he's so unaware of people's emotions and he's so blunt, I feel like any attempt to realistically put him in a romantic relationship would actually be terribly, terribly out of the tone of the show. I feel like a well-done portrayal of someone like Sheldon being in a relationship would have a lot of misunderstandings and sadness.

No, yeah, it seriously doesn't make any sense. She is easily driven insane by his madness, and he always talks down to her, and he has no interest in sex, ever. It's the most forced, OOC pairing ever.

It took me awhile to get into this one and honestly, I don't see where people are coming from when they think it will actually happen. I don't even want to see it happen, really, only because I think it would really screw up the dynamic.

But there is some really good fic for it out there and good fic is something I absolutely adore.

I think the fact that Penny & Sheldon's interactions tend to be the most interesting on the show is the main reason for it. I love the way she can just cut right through his bullshit and he clearly has come to care about her, maybe more than he cares about the rest of the main group (except probably Leonard). There is definitely good chemistry to start with and that's why people read more into it, IMO.

But as far as ships go, this is one best left to fandom.

Agreed. Totally don't see it working on any level whatsoever. Although I sometimes think it's just fandom's nature to force a couple together that doesn't actually fit.

I think people like the idea of them because of two reasons:

1. I think people like the idea of "opposites attract." There are no two further opposites on the show than Penny and Sheldon.
2. Parsons and Cuoco have really great chemistry together and their interactions often lead to the funniest moments on the show. I think some people feel that chemistry can lead to romantic chemistry.

I can see why people ship them, but I think there are some fans who read way too much into some things. I mean, they're not making googly eyes at each other or anything. Lol.

I know! I saw all this stuff about Sheldon/Penny, but when I finally saw the show, I could never see Sheldon as anything but entirely asexual. And that's fine!

Why are some people too stupid to understand that while yes, some people might want them to end up together that's not necessarily true for all of us who ship them? Or maybe they just want to keep playing dumb.

The actors have great chemistry, sorry it's so frustrating for those who ship the lousy canon (for now) pairing). It's gotta suck knowing your pairing is hated by a great portion of fandom but stop blaming it on us. It's your own fault for shipping Penny with that ass Leonard.

Sorry your ships sucks so bad, but don't blame S/P for being popular.

Otherwise, I completely agree with this secret, don't want them to be canon at all, and think that a lot of the fans are CRAZY for thinking that they can work in the show's canon.

Yeah, I actually greatly appreciate them putting a completely asexual person on the show, and I find it slightly sad that people don't accept that. But hey, people can ship what they want, and frankly I don't like any of the ships in that show... so it's all good. *shrugs*
