Sorry...but that's just how I feel. I think that people who are in fandom BECAUSE of fandom and not because of the original work are hypocrites.

I have a pretty iron-clad policy on underaged readers and visitors -- for mostly legal and ethical reasons I try to keep them away.

The one time I relaxed my policy was role-playing with a then-underaged author who was, in a lot of ways, better than me. I still count her as one of my friends.

I firmly believe that *all* writers have room to improve. All writers need to experience more of life to be better. Even if you think you're in a good place with how you write. But this is one adult who doesn't think it's dependent on age.

5) No matter what kind of female character we get; people will hate her. And then the stupid ones will love male characters who have the same traits. I've come to accept it, and be mildly annoyed when posts like that come along.

11) I haven't read much of the series, but the f-list loves it. I got the impression her rape wasn't sexy, but broke her almost completely and watching her heal is a big part of the story.

12) Depends on the circles you run. Some fandoms hate implied canon/canon pairings. Sometimes it's the sections of fandom you roll in.

Although I can understand the frustration of calling an uncanon pairing canon or better than canon pairings. When it's usually taste.

13) I like most of the books; but I can attest to the fact some writers out there are simply better than JKR. She created a world, and lots of people are able to make it more than it is.

Maybe you're a fan of her world/characters, but now how she writes them? Or maybe a fan of the people who write the characters so well?

14. Wait, what's there to complain about? The only real inconsistancy I found was the picture of Yggdrasill that would ruin who he really was later on, but I'm positive that they'll make it make sense when the time comes.

In my main fandom (Yuugiou) there aren't really any official canon pairings, save for crushes, but there are quite a few pairings that many people consider the "default" ones, so it's hard to find much stuff for pairings other than those. D8 *sighs and waves tiny Malik/Ryou flag* I've gotten called out for not writing one of those pairings, and it's like... dude, your Pairing of Choice is everywhere, you're not gonna die if one person doesn't ship it. >> *facepalm*
