idk OP, years ago my friends and I wrote crazy OOC fanfics for a cartoon we liked. OCs, Simpsons quotes, modern stuff into a fantasy setting everywhere. Really really dumb, but we had a lot of fun and those things still make me laugh. No harm in that.

Quitting because they're dicks makes more sense, but whatever makes you feel better about yourself.

120. Conan's being canonized, what? I'm just upset that he wasn't given much of a chance (and I do think he's funnier than Leno), and the nice guy finishes last apparently. He was a damn sight less shady than Leno, and took it hard, but stayed positive, and that's what I really took away from it.


160. Okay, so the response to disliking political views is to be closed-minded about it? I'm pretty damn liberal and I have conservative friends, shock and horror. I can understand that maybe you don't want the money you give them to go to organizations that are against your interests. A) You don't really know that's going to happen with your money, and B) this is you making the implication that conservatives can't be decent people. So to that I say

I know what you're saying, but I don't think there's anything wrong with being political about where you choose to spend your money. I don't know about dreamwidth, and I'm not really worried about them since they're a pretty small company, but I don't think there's anything wrong with, say, not buying Dominos pizza because they donate heavily to anti-choice causes. Yanno?

Wait, people think that if you hate Terri you're a misogynist? I'm not in the fandom, so I don't know what goes on there, but... I mean, she faked pregnancy to trap her husband in a marriage she thought he wanted out of. Rather than talking to him about their marital problems, she FAKED PREGNANCY! And tried to arrange some sort of baby sale from one of his students. She even managed fake ultrasounds! So much lying and manipulation was going on, I really don't see how that isn't reason enough to dislike her as a character. I'm sure there are places for people to sympathize with her and enjoy her, but the idea that anyone out there would say people only hate her because of sexism is... completely stupid.

Not the OP, but I am an alto, and I have played Sally Bowles.


The song sounds weird in that key. Cheno IS a coloratura, and her voice sounded pretty eh in all the songs, because she's not a belter. She never has been, she just has a totally awesome loud mix. Alone? TERRIBLE choice for her. And yeah, the soprano note at the end of Maybe This Time was totally out of place and just wrong.

Why is a high school doing Cabaret anyway? (Why do they always do Cabaret on high school TV shows?) And WHY would anyone cast Rachel as Sally Bowles when she is not an alto?

Of all the showtunes out there, maybe a tenth are clearly only written for altos. Maybe This Time is one of them. It sounds odd when sung by mezzos/sopranos.

I totally agree with OP's comment about wanting to know about Ursula's backstory. They mentioned in the original movie about how she used to live in the palace and I always wanted to know who she was to the royal family and why she was kicked out, and then why she was so evil. I sometimes attributed it to Ursula being high in the mermaid court, doing something terrible, being kicked out, and that's why she turned evil and wanted to bring down Triton.
