A sort of crossbreed between fans of anime and otherkin, Otakin believe that they are actually the reincarnation of an anime (or occasionally game) character and that the worlds depicted in popular animes such as evangelion and games like final fantasy exist in another dimension. Not!fandom secret: AHAHAHA this almost could have been written by me. It's a bit unhealthy, though. But I never knew passwords and even if I had... I probably wouldn't have used them. I just kept an eye out for public posts and whatnot. Hoo boy I was such a loser back then. XD Note the past tense.

Revive that character of yours, somehow. Really. You'll regret it if you don't.

I've had at least two characters connected with other people who I had to put away for a while because of personal issues outside the RP.

Reviving those characters and allowing them to go on without the characters they had originally been connected with was one of the best choices I made RP-wise. I've had some wonderful, amazing plot-lines come these two characters in particular since picking them up and dusting them off again.

It IS hard because their emotional pain gets mixed with your own personal connotations related to that character and that naturally does make you guilty... But really, the characters that make you pine for them are keepers and I'm sure if you really miss that character and lost him completely you'd only feel a different, longer lasting kind of guilt.

The best characters react like people, plow on and grow in experience and personality. Moving them on should not be seen as a disrespect to the player of their S.O and anyone who says otherwise is crazy, in my view.

Hell, I'm curious of your O.C now XD;;;;

Heh. I can totally relate. I have a couple of RL friends from high school that I got in a huge fight with and they both stopped talking to me... what they don't know is that I know one of their Facebook passwords and I go on and stalk them all the time.

One of them has gained about 50lbs since high school and it makes me so damn happy. I'm a horrible person.

1. Haha. I wouldn't call myself addicted but god knows I am--it's a month and a few days until school ends and I have tons of missed assignments in English I have to do. But what am I doing now? Refreshing the fandom!secrets page over and over again to read all the comments and doodling fanart. Or even better, why did I miss all those assignments? I was too busy daydreaming about certain games and writing LJ entires out in my head. :D I'm so lame.

So, yeah, I... feel your pain. Except it's not really pain, because obsessive page-refreshing is still more fun than compositions. :C

6. It's not really necessary to pair him up with someone else's character for an RP. If you wanted to you could say his relationship with that other character is a part of his past in the new (with alterations to make it fit better, of course), couldn't you? Way back when I roleplayed that worked out fine for me.
