I'm 23 and I'm not over him, either. Everyone else I knew at the time when I first watched it was a Trunks fangirl, but Vegeta always trumped him for me.

I agree with [livejournal.com profile] vethica, above, though - Chris Sabat's voice contributes a great deal for me.

[identity profile] caterfree10.livejournal.com 2010-06-27 06:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Fact, the reason I did as well as I did in my college world Western History class last year was because I imagined Hetalia characters acting out a lot of the wars.

And I barely keep up with anything in the original comic OR anime series, much less the fandom. :B

"I guess as a woman, my mind fills in the gaps for me."

I think you meant "as a human", because being a woman has nothing to do with it.

(Anonymous) 2010-06-27 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Seconded like a boss, anon. YANA ;)

[identity profile] dar-actually.livejournal.com 2010-06-27 07:01 pm (UTC)(link)
True, but that actually just made the hard swearing in MGS4 much more effective and noticeable when they used it, because they still did so sparingly. It wasn't like "Cool, we can say shit and fuck now! Let's turn this franchise into a Tarantino flick, baby!" It was more like "Now that we can swear, let's save it for when we really need to."

(Anonymous) 2010-06-27 07:03 pm (UTC)(link)
I feel you, anon.

I used to fantasize about this happening to me when I was like... six or seven. I mean, I already saw it on rugrats...

[identity profile] chellatina.livejournal.com 2010-06-27 07:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I always saw platonic Diego/Sid, even more so after the second movie.
Then the third movie came around and, well, Buck/Diego is pretty cool too! So now I'm more like "Diego/everyone is okay".
So yeah, Ice Age made me ship animals in a children's movie too.

(Anonymous) 2010-06-27 07:21 pm (UTC)(link)
well apparently disney loved infantalising Donald Duck, so that might have been an influence

I didn't realize there was anything wrong with expressing ourselves?

(Anonymous) 2010-06-27 07:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Not the person you're responding to, but a simple ctrl+f of "IT DIDN'T" in the page source reveals the tags used to scroll and blink to be:
<marquee><blink>IT DIDN'T</blink></marquee>

(Anonymous) 2010-06-27 07:38 pm (UTC)(link)
The only time I ever actively wished that a fiction was reality was when I was 11 and I seriously wanted to be an IRL pokemon trainer...yeah

(Anonymous) 2010-06-27 07:52 pm (UTC)(link)
makes me wonder if OP identifies with the uncensored clip without context that an anon posted earlier, or the whole cartoon you've posted here. Somehow I doubt they were dumped for fame and fortune....

[identity profile] elfinpiper.livejournal.com 2010-06-27 08:07 pm (UTC)(link)
102. You just made my day. And now I feel better about shooting for that license.

omg love.

Very very glad to hear it. You've made a good decision, OP, and I'm glad a few anons could help.

OT but, oh god, your icon! That ad! *cringes*

[identity profile] doktorzetsubou.livejournal.com 2010-06-27 08:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Awesome that you know the advert.
I think it makes a swell icon, too. <3

[identity profile] thecoffinq.livejournal.com 2010-06-27 08:20 pm (UTC)(link)
I agree, she was really good in Adventureland.

And all of the Twilight fans would just like, self-destruct if she came out, it would be hilarious.

[identity profile] queer-eulogy.livejournal.com 2010-06-27 08:23 pm (UTC)(link)
We all fall into ruts from time to time. I just hope that yours doesn't last too long. As long as you're getting out of bed, even if it's just to check f!s, that's still something. It's the little victories, right?

I just hope you feel better soon, OP. I understand where you're coming from and it's a horrible feeling. I wish you all the best.

OP

(Anonymous) 2010-06-27 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Clearly you have no idea how far out of their way some people will go to make sure someone they don't like doesn't post anymore.

If you're offering to buy me an ice cream, though, go right ahead.

[identity profile] astridv.livejournal.com 2010-06-27 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh yeah. It's hard to spot the trolls, when they sound indistinguishable from the folks in fandom who honestly think and argue like that.

(Anonymous) 2010-06-27 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Not that the first anon is great for using the language, but they do have a point in there somewhere. The art posted is mediocre in the non-insulting meaning of the word. The artist has probably come a long ways, but still has a long way to go. Also, it's not meant to be insulting to the artist in question, and to be honest, I think providing only positive feedback would be a lot worse.

Contrary to popular opinion mediocre really shouldn't be an insult, especially for the people who are fairly new artists (as in only drawing for a few years) or for those who really aren't trying to take it further.

[identity profile] lilya7.livejournal.com 2010-06-27 08:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Dear OP,
a couple of years agoI could have written the first part of your secret .
I was lucky: there was nothing as big as my dreams on the line, although my friend was a big part of, well, everything I did, especially my writing.

It felt so wonderful talking to someone who understood what I was saying even when she disagreed with me, that sort of one-on-one exchange.
I still miss those days - and all the characters who never got a developed storyline.

But I chose to get out - perhaps, in a way, my friend helped: she had starting distancing herself from me and everybody we knew.

I would have done it anyway: OP, it was so bad I couldn't write anymore.
She never noticed and dismissed all the concerns I chose to share with her.

I can't tell you what to do, just...please, don't stop going to therapy.
Hang in there, OP. It can't last forever.
Perhaps you won't be the same when you come out at the other side but...it doesn't have to be a bad thing.

Re: Totally unrelated but-

[identity profile] yvw.livejournal.com 2010-06-27 09:11 pm (UTC)(link)
yeah, the rest maybe not so much xD
Thanks!
But I just saw on your journal those Sanji "mood icons"(? I guess? *totally newb*) and well :D Tehe. I maybe think that you might be a little bit awesome.
Lotsa internet-luv from over here ;)

[identity profile] haku23.livejournal.com 2010-06-27 09:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I think it's all about the fandom tbh. Cause even shitty stuff will get looked at or faved if it's for a popular fandom. Case and point my most popular pieces are shitty image manipulations for Kingdom Hearts I did about 3 years ago. : | Honestly though it's not all good. My friend does fanart for Naruto and such and 3/4s of the comments are shit like "omg liek dis is so kawaii".
