#14 - what show?

*doesn't watch much tv*

(Anonymous) 2007-05-19 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Mi Gorda Bella. It's a Venezuelan telenovela that's probably not even aired wherever you live. Addictive as all hell, though.

[identity profile] forchancookie.livejournal.com 2007-05-19 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
3. Woah. That's a new one O_O
5. Ewwww. Are you gonna have shota Binny boy too? >_>
11. Word
12. If that's from where I think it is, agreed. The 3-D art in that place always feels so soul less. I have seen some nice examples of the medium over an deviantart though.

11. If you're talking about the program, used it. If you're meaning you agree, then thank you.

8. Who's that?

And for the lack of anything else better to say: YAY ONE PIECE~! ♥

[identity profile] thepinkangel.livejournal.com 2007-05-20 12:33 am (UTC)(link)

11. But by the definitions you provided, some of us could consider them "a source of inspiration."
I certainly do.
And if you're going to rant (admittedly, your rant is rather mild) about the proper intellectual use of a word, check your spelling. It kinda tarnishes your argument.

(Anonymous) 2007-05-20 06:17 pm (UTC)(link)
I was never being a grammar Nazi, just defending a word i felt that needed it. I'm not perfect when it comes to Grammar and spelling and all that, and will be the frist to admit that.

[identity profile] klytaemnestra.livejournal.com 2007-05-20 12:54 am (UTC)(link)

12. Definitely. I hate Poser art -- Poser, yeah that's the correct way to describe it. Especially because people using 3-D rendering programs still suck. It baffles me.

[identity profile] lostremnant.livejournal.com 2007-05-20 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
I'm old enough to remember when computer graphic programs like Photoshop first came out and how a lot of established artists thought that digital art wasn't "real art" and that people using computer programs to draw were lazy and shouldn't be calling themselves artists.

Somehow I think that a lot of artists who swear by their graphics programs these days wouldn't agree with that assessment. And they would be right.

2) AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAOHMAN. I LOVE THAT MOVIE. YOU'RE CRAZY, BUT IN A WAY I COULD GET TO LIKE. XD

6. If I had a friendship like that among my buddies, then my life would be so much better!

[identity profile] killiana.livejournal.com 2007-05-20 05:46 am (UTC)(link)
11. I might be more inclined to agree with you but A) muse is defined as a source of inspiration, and most RPers are referring to that source when they mention having a muse and B) any lagunage (except for the dead ones) is changing and evolving all the fucking time. Why do you think asexual no longer only means something without gender?

12. I guess anything that isn't drawn isn't art, then? Guess I was wrong when I spent so much time admiring stained glass windows, graceful scuptures, and beautiful paitings.

And movies and dioramas and miniature sculptures.

Seriously, I'm for Sims 2 being considered art (which Y!Gallery doesn't allow, so don't bash on Y!), because art isn't "anything you draw." I think medium and tools don't make something "less art." Just because someone can't paint does not mean they can't frame a scene (OMG PHOTOGRAPHERS AREN'T ARTISTS *eyeroll*), and seeing the elitism of drawing and painting over equally valid art (photography, 3D, miniature, compositions, mixed media, sculpture and glass art, more. . .) is very annoying.

I'm insulted. I try to make my work look good, try to put some creativity behind it, because that's what matters more than anything else, and I'm trying to both improve and not take myself and my art so seriously I can't have fun with it anymore.

~is a member of PoserAddicts on Y!Gallery, and thinks the people who think 3D art is cheating have never worked on any, have never dealt with finding materials and setting up scenes (which requires a sense of framing and eye for detail if it's any good, just as drawing does).

You want to tell me his 3D art isn't art? If you want a prime example, go look at official art of Gattsu/Guts and compare them, then tell me that isn't fucking beautiful art.
Seriously, get a feeling for what 3D art IS before you open your mouth and make yourself look like an idiot.

aw man a few years ago i never thought i'd support CG art so much but. damnit. a lot of people say making 3D stuff is 'easy' and with poser i guess it is, but beautiful cg art and animation takes as much effort and dedication and love as it does to make beautiful 2D art, if not more.

To #1: Nami / Usopp. Because Usopp is the man.

To #5: Do it. And let me know if you need a beta. :-) What better way to stick it (literally!) to Dick and George?

To #8: Why does she look familiar ... ? (And why is there not a plastic bag to line that trash can next to the toilet?)

To #10: No shame in that! Barret and Cloud have good "WTF?" faces in that clipping.

To #11: As a pagan who actually worships the Muses (Calliope, specifically), I approve. :-D
superheroine: (spare me your unsolicited advice)

11.

The meanings of words evolve.

The Greek Muses were sources of inspiration. They still exist, but people can make other things their muses. If someone makes x-character their personal muse - not a Greek muse - that's okay. It's THEIR inspiration. There's a difference between going "x-character SPEAKS TO ME!!11" and "x-character is an inspiration".

It's like, I mean... a hero is a male protagonist in a novel, who you're supposed to sympathize with, but the word is used to describe many other things.

7. Aww, I know exactly how you feel. My other half got married earlier this year. Sadness. :c I never got the courage to tell her I love her, but I guess it worked out in the end... she's not gay.

15. Someone shipped my boy dogs recently. Not even lying. She was visiting me and saw them and immediately being squeeing about who would be uke and who would be seme. I mean, they're the cutest dogs ever, and sometimes they ARE pretty gay, but you don't visit someone for the first time and ship their fucking dogs. It's just not done.
