I don't find it ridiculous or squicky. I find it a little creepy in some fic, because it's used a lot to get rid of the use of female characters. And a lot of the time it's poorly written and feminizes the pregnant male and ends up completely ooc.

But once in awhile someone surprises me and it can be completely sweet and heartwarming.

I have to admit, I'm one of those people who find Mpreg to be 'icky' (for lack of a better word).

That being said, this Secret makes me wish that Mpreg could happen in real life. OP, I wish science could jump lightyears ahead and make your dream come true.

I dislike mpreg AND fpreg fics because usually the writers are obsessed with pregnancy, babies, etc. in favor of the story - especially if the pregnancy is supposed to be a minor thing in the background but ends up stealing the show completely. But I also acknowledge it's just a kink, etc. So I don't bash - I stay away.

I wish biotechnology was so advanced pregnancy was available for everyone. It would save people a lot of heartbreak :( Not to mention it would be thousand times more convenient.
I know what you're going through. My bff is gay and in a relationship, and it kills me to see him sad because he and his partner can't have children together. I'm female and have no desire to have children of my own/get pregnant - it's too unfair for words.

Mpreg fic itself does nothing for me, but several years ago a male friend of mine told me that he wished he could be pregnant and give birth. I laughed and told him he was crazy and took it as a joke, since straight guys don't tend to confess things like that. But when I realized he was dead serious, it made me think. While I'm not interested in going through pregnancy myself, it really is sad for men who would like to but seemingly have no chance of it ever.

I DO think that science will one day make it possible for two men to have a biological child together, OP. Perhaps even in your lifetime. It might not be through Mpreg, but genetic engineering + surrogate wouldn't be that bad, eh?

I hope than when you do adopt, you'll find your child is the most special thing to ever appear in your life, even if it doesn't have a single gene of yours.

I once met a 5 year-old kid who was adopted and told me all about his "heart mom". DNA doesn't make you a better father. Love does.

What a beautiful picture! I love this secret in spite of the fact that mpreg is really not my bag. Thanks for sharing. I realize how lucky I am that when I wanted to have children I was able to have them with very little fuss. It's always good to be reminded to cherish what you have.

My cousin and his husband used a surrogate mom and donor eggs to have their 3 kids. Of course, they are richer than sin, and it's not a true blending of their DNA.

Thank you for choosing to adopt. You may not be able to have a child of your own blood, but whoever you adopt didn't have the chance of their 'real' family either. I think it's a beautiful union.

Man. This touched me pretty personally. I'm not really in to mpreg fics (mostly because I read like one once, it was terrible, and I don't read much fanfiction anyway, soyeah), but I'm in the same boat. I wanted to carry and have a child so badly, it was heartbreaking. Me and my wife ended up having a son together, and I love him to death, but it's not the same. <3 goes out to you anon.
