The stranger worlds were always one of my favorite parts of Tsubasa. It makes me happy to think about them now, since Kurogane & Fai & Syaoran (...well...a Syaoran) are still bopping about travelling from world to world, and maybe they'll happen upon places like the Land of Weird Bunnies again.

exactly this. and skinny cosplayers are guilty almost as often of picking characters and costumes that are unflattering, they just somehow get less flak than if the costume is unflattering because they are overweight.

Yeah, more or less. But I have some other potentially pertinent information!

So here's the thing about cursing that is actually quite fascinating. For some odd reason, the words that we learn as "cuss words" are the words that elicited a hardwired response in our brains. We are programmed, as animals, to curse. So far, research points to our amygdala as the origin of this response. (That's extremely interesting because even for people who have "lost" the ability to feel emotion due to damage to their orbitofrontal cortex, communication with the amygdala remains unaffected. In fact, the amygdala even lights up when they curse) Furthermore, cussing is considered beneficial when the right situation permits it. So for someone who doesn't normally cuss, the use of such extremely emotionally charged words can do a lot more for someone than saying "cheesy toast" or a bunch of other neutral words. Cussing can even increase someone's pain tolerance. Like everything, it should be in moderation. But! Cussing is an important evolutionary quirk that we've retained from our mammalian cousins because sometimes, it's much more effective to let just a few words convey your emotions.

Jonah Lehrer and Steven Pinker have written much more about this, and they're both worth a read for a better explanation.

I particularly liked that world for its beautiful scenery. CLAMP almost always focuses on their characters instead of the surrounding environment, so the pre-Tokyo worlds seemed like a great exercise for them to draw different types of foliage, architecture, and the like. (Post-Tokyo, well...Infinity literally took place in a few rooms, and we saw Celes, Nippon, and Clow before, so the fantastic background art kind of died off.)

Some resources that might be of interest:

"Swearing: A Social History of Foul Language" by Geoffrey Hughes
"How We Decide" by Jonah Lehrer (includes a passage on swearing)
"The Language of Journalism: Profanity, Obscenity, and the Media"

Two of those I have not looked at myself, but I've definitely seen some of the articles written by researchers on the subject. An episode of Mythbusters was also dedicated to investigating whether or not swearing increases one's pain tolerance.

I'd almost forgotten about the bunny world! I guess Clamp kinda explained it at the beginning of the next arc when Fai suggests it was some type of trap, but I'm not sure what exactly the point of it was. Maybe it was a dangerous world at some point and Fei Wong used Evil Guy magic to make it safe and full of bunnies so it wouldn't be dangerous or something, who knows. Clamp probably doesn't even know. (Actually, come to think, they basically do the same thing with Fei Wong. Note to Clamp: having Fai suggest plausible theories does not work as an actual adequate explanation.)

He's kind of incoherent and hypocritical-- which sort of makes sense considering the stuff I spoilered for myself a few days ago, but I can still see where other people would find that obnoxious.

Not to mention, I usually just like Pokemon rivals for the pretty eyecandy, and man oh man N is pretty. Then there's the shippers and that one scene... yeah.
