There are a few kid actors I legitimately liked, and thankfully some of them are aging fairly gracefully (Freddie Highmore, Logan Lerman)-- but yeah, most of the 'good ones' don't tend to make the transition all that well, and the rest are either really good in one role because they're basically playing themselves, or just actually terrible. Acting isn't exactly a skill someone is born with.
