I agree with this secret so much. This shit on LJ has gone far out of hand. If you're familiar with 4chan, you know how hateful language like fag and 'woman get back to the kitchen' is common place?

Well, Livejournal is the polar opposite, and it's just as bad. Anyone who uses language that could VAGUELY be offensive to ANYONE is dogpiled. And not just in the activism communities. I've seen people being vilified for using the word "lame" and men attacked for the sin of finding a woman attractive.

Cut this shit out, and you know who you are. You're part of the problem. By acting like PC police, you're making actual problems seem less valid because you come off like crazy people.

One time I said that there are a lot of things I don't understand about SJ (the example I used was "is it transman, trans man, or trans-man?" I don't know because I've never known anyone who cared. Not that I talk to people anyway.) and it got posted on sf_drama

Shit exploded, I got really upset and mentioned that I felt so bad that I started cutting, someone made a snide response to it, then I cut a reply to them into my arm and posted a picture of it

Now they've been kind of following me around slapping me in the face with their hateboners

I would disagree. Let's use myself as an example. I'm queer, and have experienced homophobia in various forms over the course of my life. Some homophobic language been used against me, so seeing hateful homophobic language can hurt.

This is a lot different from someone who is straight using a homophobic slur and being called on it from multiple people, even if they are being attacked personally and insulted without reason, which by the way I DO NOT condone because that is bullying. And the original homophobic language in question? Is not trivial to me.

And if they are not being attacked personally? You can't really make a case, it's not the same at all. Honestly, as far as I've observed most of the time it's not personal attacks or anything like the example you've used. When comments like that are made, like in this thread, they tend to be anons who seem to be trying to stir both sides into fights more than actually making a point.
