You are not, in any way shape or form, indirectly or otherwise, responsible for your own oppression and if someone in f!s specifically has made you feel that way, they are wrong. Furthermore, you are not the oppressor in fandom. Being an oppressor requires authority/power. So if a member of a minority is arguing with someone about social justice? That is not oppression.

And in fandom, I'm not going to continue speaking up for issues when I do. Because those are issues that affect me, and issues I want to speak about, issues I like discussing. I'm sorry you aren't feeling it, but I have not spoken for you and only for myself. Furthermore, in my experiences not every bit of fandom is about social justice issues. Not even half of the content in any fandom addresses it, so I think it's extremely possible to skip over the parts you dislike and continue enjoying fandom, and using it as an escape.

I agree with this secret so much. This shit on LJ has gone far out of hand. If you're familiar with 4chan, you know how hateful language like fag and 'woman get back to the kitchen' is common place?

Well, Livejournal is the polar opposite, and it's just as bad. Anyone who uses language that could VAGUELY be offensive to ANYONE is dogpiled. And not just in the activism communities. I've seen people being vilified for using the word "lame" and men attacked for the sin of finding a woman attractive.

Cut this shit out, and you know who you are. You're part of the problem. By acting like PC police, you're making actual problems seem less valid because you come off like crazy people.
