8. I'm just scared of having people squee at Tsubasa characters without ever knowing their original counterparts. I've already heard of a lot of shipping of Ashura and Fay, which does make me sad because Tsubasa has so much more exposure than RG Veda and old ships like Taishakuten/Ashura-oh fall by the wayside. It isn't as bad with, say, Seishirou and Subaru because they could very well be the most popular CLAMP characters on the Western side of fandom. I'm just waiting for the first time someone sees a pic like the one I used as my icon base and go 'omg wtf?? ashura/fay forevah!'.

9. *shrugs* Everyone thinks differently. I think FFXII's plot is much more intricate than X's, just badly executed. If given the chance to tell that story in a game without the Final Fantasy name (and the cliches and such that come with it), like, maybe, you know, Vagrant Story II, it would have worked out so much better.

10. I actually take the muse thing way more seriously than most people I know. There are some people that have no muse, and some people that play characters for fun. Everyone has their own definition of muse, as I've looked at all the responses to this and agree with each on some degree.

RPing or writing a character for fun is much different than finding a real (scary) my-character-talks-to-me muse. When I can relate to a character to such a level that it scares me, I always feel like muse is too light a term for it. I'm one of the more frightening people with split personality issues, when a 'muse' is strong enough. I call them muses to fit in, because I'm not about to tell some people I RP with, "Hey, I have voices in my head. And your term 'muse' insults the inner bond I have with this character."

If I can relate -fully- to a particular character, than that's more like "I just use my own instincts and that's what s/he would do." Forget muses.

But I still have chars that I just play for fun or because I like them, not because I feel like I can relate to them. And for those chars, I'd say my 'muse' is more accurately described as the inspiration to write as that character. Not a character-mascot in my head telling me how they would act.

Some, I just take more seriously than others. And the relationships formed with those characters become just like any real friends I have.



If that made ANY sense whatsoever... Now that I've creeped anyone that read this out, completely.

I agree on the whole compelling thing. I can't say that I think Roy would make a better main character for the story than Ed, but his background story and personality... Ed's was much more personal and way more selfish than Roy's, in a lot of ways.

I kind of feel the same way about both of them, in that I never really loved one or the other so I can't pick favorites, but I'm trying to look at it considering both objective and subjective opinions.

8. I read a few chapters and thankfully never got addicted!! Hahaha. Uh. I don't like the direction CLAMP's gone over the years; I hate the noodley artstyle of XXXholic (I think that's the title) and I think it's unprofessional of them to just dump series after series as soon as another gets popular. Most overrated group ever. :( BECAUSE YOU NEEDED TO KNOW.

15. I hated the second Pirates movie because of the stupid ~Love Triangle~ with Jack and Will. Well. And the fact that it was pretty stupid. But she bugs, seriously. The way she holds her jaw bugs me. CLOSE YOUR MOUTH, JEEZ

9. The thing about FFX's plot that I like best is that it doesn't tell you everything straight up, and even then, it's okay. It takes some brain work to find out that no, Tidus does not time travel, what the hell happened between Bevelle and Zanarkand, why Sin was born, why Tidus disappears, etc.

On the other hand, what I like about FFXII's plot is that it's more like the older FF's - about kingdoms, warriors, betrayal, and war. It returns to the roots, just like FFIX did. It feels like a playable fantasy novel.

My biggest complaint about FFXII, however, is the soundtrack is the biggest letdown on the face of the Earth. Almost all of the FFs has at least one non-vocal track that really sticks it to you, the the one you want to listen to over and over again because it's just so damn cool. FFX has To Zanarkand and Someday the Dream Will End (although it's just an instrumental version of Sutki Da Ne, but damn pretty enough to be its own song) for example. FFVI has the Opera scene and FFVII's Still More Fighting is instantly recognizable and generally well loved. FFXII has no such track, at least, to me.

9. OH, THANK YOU. I will never understand why people don't like FFX. It was the most beautiful, complex, interesting game of the entire series, and had the best cast of characters. AND OMFG THE ENDING MAKES ME CRY EVERY TIME I REPLAY IT.

5) Are they emulated (sp?) for the Game Boy Advance PC emulator (the one I use for Fire Emblem)? That way, I could play those released for GBA and see what's the hype about it. :3

5. I went in to this fandom for the porn, I stayed for the cast of wonderful characters, the game play, and the awesome people. It made me buy a DS. D:< NOW I MUST BUY EACH GAME AND PLAY THEM OVER AND OVER.

7. You're not alone. I may not like certain pairings in my fandom, but I can equally enjoy all the things that result from them. Don't be afraid to voice your opinions, friend don't hassle friends, you make sure they know that.

8. What I think is ultimately wrong with the series is that it has Kurogane and Fay, two somewhat interesting characters with a lot of potential and shoves them in the background in favour of Sakura and Syaoran, which, as much as I loved them in Cardcaptor Sakura, are incredibly boring here. It sucks because if they weren't, it's a series that I could really like.

17. Well, while I didn't find Ed boring at all, Roy and his band of merry men (and Hawkeye) could've easily held their own in their own series. A spin off would be brilliant.
