Um...I'm not trying to be cool. I've honestly seen so many Sebi/Ciel shippers that I thought they made up a majority of the fandom, and therefore thought my opinion was unpopular.

Sorry if the secret made you angry, but I'm not trying to impress anybody...

Aw, don't be sad, OP. This shipper didn't think you were trying to be ~edgy~ or ~cool~. You're just getting the side-eye here because there are a bunch of aggressive, unpleasant anti-shippers who keep trying to show us the light. You don't sound like one of them, and fwiw I think you'd be welcome in the fandom.

You don't have to be a shipper, not of anybody. Honest. Gen is a good thing. Diversity is a good thing. It's only hating on other people's opinions that's a bad thing and unwelcome.

I think, for the ten thousandth time, that it is not established for anime canon that anon above does or should mean she. If and when it is, most of us will happily fall into line, but until then? Wanting Grell to ID as trans and having it be canon that Grell IDs as trans are not the same thing.

No. Yana Toboso, the mangaka, has called Grell "okama" which can also mean "campy drag queen" - this may have been poorly translated - if someone perceives Grell to be male they are not incorrect. Everyone has their own interpretation. Not that big of a deal.

A lot of people aren't aware of this. Even if it is canon, which is debatable, a lot of people just haven't seen the interviews/character guide where this is said. Not everyone who calls Grell "he" is deliberately misgendering Grell. If you've only seen the anime, it's perfectly reasonable to think that Grell is a man.

Not that it shouldn't be discussed, mind you, but people really need to stop saying that everyone who thinks Grell is a man is transphobic.

NGL, I get this. Even though I usually read the manga before watching the anime of a series, for whatever reason I started with the anime for this one and I absolutely loved the way the original series ended. I felt like that in particular was what really tied it together and gave it meaning, so I was hesitant to start the manga, considering that it was and still is ongoing. While I honestly have to admit that I still prefer the anime, I'm really glad that I got into the manga too. They're just very different structurally? Plus I'd say the manga is a lot darker, and quite a bit more disturbing. It's definitely enjoyable though, even if you just keep them as separate series in your mind. I'd say to at least give it a try!


And ohgosh /ships no one too. WHY MUST EVERYTHING BE SHIPPED?
