I think he's more of an insecure attention whore than a douchebag, if you're really going to get down to his WORST qualities. But I don't think that gets in the way of how fun he actually seems. I sort of love how insane he is.

I have a real love/hate view on Misha. There are times when I find his wit and charm genuine, but more often than not he comes off like an egotistical douchebag who is thriving on his own bullshit and popularity and it really turns me off. I liked him much more before he discovered twitter.

I'd like to amend that to he's an okay actor. I'd say better than the boys, but not exactly "great". He does Castiel well enough, but the portrayal always seems a little...lacking in dimension, for me? I'm a pretentious as fuck movie snob though, so. X3 It's just my opinion.

I don't see him being a jerk as much as I see him being really, really, really bored and wishing someone would come along and out Misha him. Like if he keeps pressing these buttons someone, a fan or a stranger, would show him up and make him fall flat on his face. And he would be completely ecstatic for that day.

In a way, he reminds me of Sherlock Holmes. Holmes was impossible when he was bored. But give him a real challenge and he would explode with life and amusement.

I don't understand? When has his trolling hurt anyone? He has a devoted fanbase who'd do anything he asks and have fun with it. If someone doesn't like it (or doesn't care, I me) they have no obligation to get involved. It's not like he and his fans band together to stalk anyone, spam their email, crash their website or destroy their property.

Exactly. He trolls, but he's never been nasty, at least not to anyone he didn't know for sure would enjoy it. I love him, and I'm a person who usually finds pranks to be really not nice and tends to air on the side of not wanting to offend people. Misha has never gone out of his way to hurt anyone. He only has fun with people who actively participate with him and who he knows are having fun.

I think his humor is a very you love it or you hate it. I can see how it would rub people the wrong way but something about him seems so silly and childlike and downright strange that I can't help but find it endearing <3

Look - and I'm saying this as a fan/viewer of the show - that fandom (on the whole) is batshit crazy and deserves to be trolled. The way I see it is if Misha puts up with (and even plays along with) just a fraction of the shit fans give him and the other people in the cast, then he's earned the right to have a little fun at their expense too.

What I don't get is when Misha is praised as being some sort of God of Trolls when he's trolling the Supernatural fandom. Come on, isn't that like shooting fish in a barrel? Where's the challenge? (Sorry, that's mean of me. But if it makes Supernatural fans feel any better, I'm part of The Vampire Diaries fandom, and we're not any better for the most part. I think.)

Hmmm, now I'm trying to think of fandoms that would be better to troll.... Glee? Nah, Ryan Murphy does that all on his own.

Personally, I've always got the impression that the way Misha presents himself is very much a front for the fans sake, but all the same it rubs me the wrong way. There's just something about him that annoys the hell out of me, and I don't even pay close attention to the man or what he does or says. But I've seen enough to know that he encourages his fans, and with a fandom like this? I don't think they should be encouraged TOO much.
