I've been around the block and I know how utterly insane fandom can be, but the tumblr TH fandom kind of took it to a new level in that it blew up SO quickly and they got so obsessed so quickly, and in that despite what people keep saying to defend the people involved, the majority of people I've seen who are/were involved weren't young teens, they were people in their late teens/early 20s, and middle-aged women.

It's baffled me, tbqh.

I generally enjoy Loki but the way the fandom turned into the Marvel equivalent of "Draco in Leather Pants" was a major turn off. So the blow up was equal parts hilarious and satisfying.

Let's get real here, people. He was never going to go out with any of us anyway, so why does this matter? He's a hot actor, of course he could and would land himself a wife, and no one has the right to whine about it except the two of them should they be unhappy, which afaik they're not. Actors get to have personal lives too, you know. And for the love of crap don't go bashing the poor woman. What did she do that was so terrible? Just that she fell in love with a guy that a lot of other people find attractive, and he fell in love with her too? How is that something that should earn her any hate? Answer: It is not. None of us have the right to complain about someone else's love life, who we don't even KNOW.

I am not surprised at all that people do this...and that is pretty sad :/ People get way too obsessed with a celebrity. Honestly I wonder if he just wanted to keep his personal life and acting life separate. Either way it is definitely not his job to inform people if he is married or not. It's kinda up to them whether or not they make anything public.

I agree about it being a blessing. I always thought his fanbase could be a little off. Not everybody mind you but the greater chunk :| It makes me think less and less of people. Why can't we just admire his acting talent and not have to turn this into creeper territory?

I hardly think it was "mass," but I too was grateful that (hopefully) some of the craziest crazies have left. There really weren't too many of 'em, it's just that their insanity was...noticeable and loud. I still have faith in the fandom; most people are just nice and fun and silly. (But come on, Loki's not the Joker. He's supposed to be somewhat sympathetic.)

Urgh, though, to those people. Urgh to anyone who reacts as if a celeb has ~violated their trust~ whenever they reveal they're in a relationship. As if the first words out of a celeb's mouth should be "before you fans start crushing on me, here are the deep, personal details of my private life". Seeing the poor woman get ripped to shreds was disgusting. Putting ironic quote marks around the word wife, or insinuating she's not worthy of being his wife is gross. Women hating on women for the crime of being a woman is so frustrating. If you like him as an actor, how does his marriage effect his ability to act?! This crap is also why gay actors are encouraged to keep their sexuality secret - because their fans may up and leave as if it something effects their job that the actor likes boys instead of girls.
