24. Martha FTW. I liked her right from when she appeared and she was awesome. The crush on the Doctor - beyond groan-inducing, but everything else was great. I cheered inside when she snapped back at the Doctor last Saturday. Sound of Drums was the perfect combination of greatness, whut-ness and Martha being brilliant.

#8 - That's a bit silly. For so, so many reasons.

#10 - ^_^v I started learning Japanese for two reasons - because it had no definite articles/plural nouns, and because I wanted to be able to read my huge manga collection. (Though shortly thereafter, I started playing koto and the like, so became even more interested.) I just started reading my Bleach raw. Some of the long speeches with tortured grammar make my head explode, but it makes me so happy that I can understand most of it with just a little help from my kanji dictionary!

#24 - I'm quickly falling in love with Martha. I think they've done a great job of making her a cool character in her own right, and not just that chick that replaced Rose.

10. Translating raw Naruto manga when I went to Japan gave me a lot of encouragement to continue learning the language. As long as it's for translation and learning purposes and not just because you want to out wapanese your friends, I think it's a good reason.

I think that the appeal that romance and porn has comes from the pressure to "find that special someone or else you'll be a sad and lonely virgin all of your life" that society likes to put on people. Some people deal with the pressure through romance fic, I guess, especially since it's tough to find dates IRL.
