But I have to admit, I'm not as jazzed about Martha as I thought I would be. I really want to like her, since she's so pretty and smart and a med student who isn't Grace, but something just didn't click.


28. I'm asexual, too. But I have the opposite view? I love romance in stories, but I tend to skip over the sexy parts. People accuse me of being a child, too (or "developmentally stunted" I think were their words) but I'm okay with it :D (btw, lot of porn!secrets today...)

I am SO TIRED of Sasuke basically RAPING little femme!Narutos (he says no and is sobbing; actual non con doesn't count), and then being like "lol he liked it anyway the end". Or Naruto constantly crying and Sasuke like...attacking him with his penis. I don't understand it. If you like slash/yaoi/whatever...then why make it into het? e_e But yes, totally agreed.

32. OMG SOMEBODY ELSE WHO ACTUALLY LIKES THIS PAIRING! And I love the pairing either way, but I seriously wince over the weepy uke Gaara shit. (Then again, I hate weepy uke Lee, too. They're both strong characters with very nice spines, kthnx.)
As much as I love the pairing, most of the fic for it...........is lacking. I sympathize, 32. I really do. I want more seme Gaara, because I want things to be evened out and there's a discrepancy these days. I love this pairing to bits, you made my day because I'm such a total fangirl for it.

7. SO DID I!!!! One of the members caught on and outed us though. She was kind of a bitchy BNF and left the forums for a while until the other members sucked up to her and got her to come back. She actually wasn't the one we originally wanted to leave though. He stayed. *sigh* It was fun as hell anyways.

I've been writing the same characters for 5+ years--IMHO, they're pretty well developed, and the ones that aren't I've been working to improve. A number of people on my flist are very familiar with them. That's the really discouraging part. :/

32. My new OTP. Gaara is a freak in an evil, awful way and Lee is a freak in a waaaaaay too happy way. I hate it when Gaara is written badly and especially when Lee is. I don't care who tops, because they both could. But, this pairing IS drastically lacking in the fanfic. I've read "Diplomatic Relations" five times due to this reason. Please post your fic if you understand their personalities! PUHLEASE!?!?

The fandom is so small and full of badfic the only things to do are re-read the good ones until you've almost memorized them or write your own, (which may or may not fall into the badfic.)

I did both because it was driving me crazy. I've lost count how many times I've re-read the few good ones I've found. (I think DR is on 10 or so.) I swear if I see one more slutty Gaara or drunken pervert Lee I'll throw something. Oops, didn't mean to rant at a stranger. >_>

18. Nah. People who read fanfics, I think, read them because they like seeing their characters again outside of their respective games/anime/whatever. That's my excuse, anyway. If people want to read good original fiction, they go grab a book. If people aren't reviewing your original fics, I say don't get discouraged and keep trying. That people are reviewing your fanfics is a sign that, at the very least, your style is something to be liked. Keep at it! I think your dream is a good one.

2. You are not responsible if this person does hurt him/herself...it would show that they were unstable to begin with. Don't fall for emotional blackmail. I know what it's like...I put up with stalkerish behavior from a guy for several months because I too feared that he would harm himself if I rejected him. Finally I couldn't take it anymore and screamed at him over the phone to leave me the fuck alone. He didn't hurt himself but even if he had, I would not have been the cause of it. It's your life. 22. Um....what IS the difference actually? Because I always thought that centaurs were to be found in fantasy stories. You certainly don't find them in reality. (at least I haven't. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places?)

24. As a long term Doctor Who fan, I can tell you that resistance to a companion who replaces a previous and very popular former companion is a tradition with Doctor Who fandom. I actually haven't seen any of the Martha episodes myself but give it time and if she's as good as you say, the resistance should lessen.

28. Well...I'm asexual in regards to myself. That is, I'm not interested in having sex myself. But I do like reading romance and smut if it's well written. Because when you think about it, the sex in fanfics is fantasized. Let me give you an example: two characters wake up in bed together in the morning and they begin kissing each other. Now reading that is sexy but come on, would you actually want to kiss someone who has just awoken and hasn't brushed his/her teeth yet?
