20. I think you should be allowed to feel however you like about a character. It's very hard to like ALL characters, regardless of sex or gender. I say this as a fan of her (totally adore Haruhi and do like her with Tamaki and/or Kyouya - but I also like KyouyaxTamaki all the same).

24. I only get a little shirty when some women in fandom turn around and objectify gay men or gay male relationships as something "feminist." :/ It can get a little, um, creepy. Feminism is great, I'm just not sure that slash is the best example of it in action.

11 + 24 make me sort of sad, I'm aware of these problems in a technical sort of way, but I can't imagine being around it regularly enough to want to do a post secret about it. It sort of makes me wonder about how fandom has 'grown up' over the past decade, and that if the sections of fandom I'm in, everone is in their early twenties, if that means there are still sections of fandom where people are still in the middling teens and apparently still being angry and judgemental.

Honestly though, thank you for saying this. When I started reading naruto, they were at the chuunin exams, and all I saw was this kick-ass Sakura. Immediately she became my favorite character. Even when I went back and saw what her character was like in the beginning, she was still my favorite character. :D

Also, to the people who thinks she's useless and weak, I have a question for you. Who was the first person to kill an Akatsuki member? Hmm?

I agree with you 100% A++ point there. Honestly, as a female, I always get mad at girls when they get all up in arms about guys looking at porn and then go on over to 4chan and /r/ some tentacle rape yaoi. I mean, wtf?

6. People calling themselves asexual because it's trendy? I think you have it all wrong. I don't think almost anyone who says that is trying to be trendy, except maybe a scarce few.

I think it's SAD how people have to find a way to EXPLAIN themselves to people like you who call them pathetic for not being interested in romance or sex. I have a strong feeling a lot of them just jump to "asexual" because they feel this pressure to explain WHY theyre not interested in these things, because otherwise, people label them as pathetic or PRESSURE them into liking those things.

Reproduction isnt everything, and it doesn't make you pathetic for not being interested. They're not trying to be cool, theyre just trying to be accepted.

24. While I agree with this in a 'within fandom' kinda way, I think the societal atmosphere makes me understand where the attitude comes from in a larger sense. It's not that women in society are stigmatized for looking at teh pr0n, It's that objectifications of men for the sake of women are simply not as common or as visible as objectifications of women for the sake of men. Advertising is the easiest way to see this. I'm not saying stigmatization of anyone is OK, I'm just saying that the situation isn't equal outside of fandom, either. I'm agreeing it should be equal both places, but we need to keep the perspective that it's not, yet.
