1. Awww, someone else who loves iGoogle! I seriously do the same thing.

2. And now he gay from tent peg?

9. What? I thought she'd stopped painting because of lack of time.

14. Ok, I like Count Cain as much as anyone, but what idiot would base their knowledge of Victorian England on that manga? I'm no expert, and even I know that what you said about Cain's behavior is true. (Thanks for the rec, btw.)

21. This is why I stay away from the fandoms for American cartoons. They are usually batshit (the fact that I haven't found a cartoon that interests me in years doesn't hurt.)

RE 14: Met people who take it like it's a textbook. They think that the artist should have probably done a ton of research beforehand and therefore take everything she says as fact.

Not that I'm dismissing the need for research (because it makes art and stories so much better) but seriously, unless the work in question is a scholarly work about the time period in question, one should never take an author/artist's presentation as cold hard fact. It's called 'artistic license' for a reason.

And actually, even then you shouldn't take one person's word and research as the be-all, end-all of the subject in question. Oy, children today.
