RE 14: Met people who take it like it's a textbook. They think that the artist should have probably done a ton of research beforehand and therefore take everything she says as fact.

Not that I'm dismissing the need for research (because it makes art and stories so much better) but seriously, unless the work in question is a scholarly work about the time period in question, one should never take an author/artist's presentation as cold hard fact. It's called 'artistic license' for a reason.

And actually, even then you shouldn't take one person's word and research as the be-all, end-all of the subject in question. Oy, children today.
