...you know, her stuff comes on the radio at work all the time, and while I normally can't stand her (I think I'd love her if I was ten years younger, though) this might just make it bearable. Thanks for the inspiration, op!

I don't think she's all that bad, even if she's not my favorite, but I love this.

I feel the same way about James Blunt, though I suspect he really is trying to sing from the pov of a stalker or something.

This is kind of awesome, anon.

I misunderstood some of the lyrics to Love Story and spent a little while thinking she was singing to a girl. ("Marry me Juliet, you'll never have to be alone") I like the idea of it as a sappy lesbian romance better than what the song actually is. The "I'll talk to your dad" part, coming from a girl's perspective makes the whole thing about ten times more interesting.

I thought that we were supposed to look at "You Belong With Me" as if the singer was deranged. The "narrator" of that particular story is obviously the female version of this guy (http://xkcd.com/513/), after all.

Pffftt... so "Sparks Fly" just came on my iTunes, and I'm analyzing it using your method. Now that it's about a man who wouldn't meet her expectations ("drop everything now / meet me in the pouring rain") who she winds up killing ("...as the lights go down / give me something that will haunt me when you're not around"), it's much creepier, ergo, more awesome. THANKS!

I think there was a secret earlier about someone finding one of her "don't marry that other girl" songs to make her think of someone about to shoot up a church Kill-Bill style. But yeah, there's something sweet and pretty with the possibly crazy eyes about her that makes your head!canon work.

I like her music pretty well, but damn, I like this alternate character interpretation. It amuses me.

I like a few of her songs okay but tbh I don't have much respect for her. This secret is pretty amazing, though.

I only listen to her stuff if it's incidental (like, in the grocery store) but this is how I'll listen to it from now on. Awesome.

This just reminds me that I've been meaning to write a bunch of TaySwift songfic parodies for a while casting various stalkers as her while everyone else looks at them oddly.
