Thank you so much for your concern and suggestions. When I do (finally someday) go to a doctor, I will definitely have them check the thyroid.

I'm wondering myself, because isn't your thyroid down low, under your voice box? My lump is up high, near the pulse point, under my jaw. But I know next to nothing about this stuff, just what I could google about lumps in necks.

That might be your lymph node. But IDK if a thyroid issue could make your lymph nodes swell.

Thyroid cancer survivor here! I wasn't diagnosed for a very long time (good medical system, crappy fat-phobic doctors) and I was fine. You have lymph nodes where you describe, and chronic exhaustion and low-grade infections can definitely lead to swelling of lymph nodes. When my thyroid cancer was finally found, they were concerned because my lymph nodes were so big - but it was because I had been chronically sick for so long, since thyroid problems mess with your immune system too.

I used to get those, and then I was diagnosed with a thyroid thing - go figure. Maybe just a coincidence. The thyroid thing can be checked by a simple blood test, but I realise I live in a country where blood tests and doctor visits are free if bulk billed. The problem with you ever getting diagnosed is that you would have to obtain and pay for the medication.

This needs to be checked, OP. My life is 400% better now that I know the problem isn't me being lazy and sleepy for no reason. I don't know enough about your culture, but if there's a way you can get it checked - do it. Thyroid issues are serious - and if you get onto the medz, your life will be so much easier and you won't feel so overwhelmed. And as someone else said here... if you have to go into debt to get treated - do it.

I agree with luna, the position sounds more like your lymph knot but as tempting as it is to self-diagnose via the Internet I wouldn't take what you find too seriously. Your symptoms are generic enough to give you results from problems with your thyroid gland to having cancer.
And just because certain symptoms point to one thing doesn't mean you have it, sometimes different things play into it. For example I have all the symptoms for an underactive thyroid gland but my thyroid functions perfectly. So yeah, what I'm trying to say is: Don't let yourself get freaked out by the Internet. I can't imagine how scared you have to be and I wish you all the best *hugs*

And most of all: Never, ever feel bad for being sick. I'm not sure if it's any consolation but even a lot of people in countries with a good health care system feel bad for being sick. *hugs again*

I'm not sure how expensive over the counter medicine is where you live but did you ever ask a pharmacist if they have something that could help you?
