6: You know, I'd agree with you... except that you're coming off as a disgruntled yaoi fangirl. You might want to fix that~!

So what if people are gonna start shipping them? I don't ship them myself, but hey, if others do, that's okay.

3, 17, 20, and 22

[identity profile] stopping.livejournal.com 2007-07-18 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
3- I think I love you. That is all. XD ♥

17- Heeheehee, I think I like whoever made 17. And I think I agree with them. XD I'd hate to have to hang out with Sasuke, but hell. Suigetsu is an amazing character. I love him lots. x3

20 & 22- And I agree with both 20 and 22, contradicting as that may be. D: I would be terrified if something like the death note actually became real, but I do think that Kira was shaping the world into a better place, where fear of God didn't. However, it's only those god-fearing extremists that make religion look bad. I'm not religious at all, but I think that, for those who are smart about it, religion does good things for people, whereas Kira just scares the shit out of everyone to make them be good. Soooo. Maybe Kira and God can just have a tea party and chat like sane people?

I don't know if that made any sense, but it does to me, so whatever~ ♥

Aaand~ Not!Secret #1? To go with what you said, everyone would just have to start calling him moon, not light, because that's what that kanji means. So yes. I do like Yagami Moon. Or maybe we should just screw the names and translate everything literally? I love Night-god Moon! WHOOOOOOO.

Get over yourself. If people are going to be idiots about how to say his name, then let them. They're morons for freaking out about it anyway. [I call him Raito, by the way~ ♥] He's a fictional character. I'm pretty sure he's not too insulted by rabid fangirls mispronouncing his name.

Oh, but wouldn't it? He's so fantastic. I want him to be my best frien, like woah.

22

HA HA NO.

I was going to write a huge-ass rant about this, but then I realized that I'm on page 4 and no one's going to read it. Suffice it to say that I personally think your argument is based on a poor understanding of Christianity. But then, I'm a fairly devout Christian, so who's going to listen to me?

For future reference, though... Sodom & Gommorah is a much better example than Noah's Ark. Of course, I'd probably just refer you to Jonah's Nineveh and tell you not to take a heavily-edited mish-mash of ancient texts so literally.

Hey, I'm on page 4 and I'd read it. :c

Who's the person in your icon? A friend of mine would like to know.

1. I still need to watch Heroes. If only for Hiro. He's socute :3

6. Oh man, I'm with you there. I HOPE NOT. Kallen deserves way, WAY better than Suzaku (or even Lelouch, lol) I... don't ship anything in this fandom, though.

22. How about a world with neither? I think that'd work even better! But really, I think you're simplifying the matter way too much. Things are far more complex than that.

[identity profile] lottery.livejournal.com 2007-07-18 04:36 am (UTC)(link)
21. I totally agree with what you mean. But I think people got distracted by all the other changes in the game and didn't spend too much time fighting Clerith vs. Clotifa. Which is good.

22. ...dude, you bring up a pretty good point. But it's still like...a really scary idea because it's ALWAYS like the Old Testament!God. I much prefer New Testament!God myself since he undergoes a huge personality change and doesn't seem quite so scary. O.o

1 & 22 are both SO TRUE!

[identity profile] some-kat.livejournal.com 2007-07-18 04:48 am (UTC)(link)
12. VERY YES. ♥♥

16. And yet you used one of the cover images where they tried to model her after the movies.

20. Yeah, that'd be some scary shit to have around D:

22. I'm not going to get my panties in a twist over feeling offended by your statement. I believe in my religion, so things other people say about it don't really bother me that much.

I will say, though, it'd be best if you don't generalize the aspects of any religion.

(Anonymous) 2007-07-18 04:55 pm (UTC)(link)
#16-Were they? Shit I haven't been into the Tomb Raider fandom in ages, I hadn't heard much about how the new games were made except that they changed who was making it and borrowed heavily from the Prince of Perisa. But I wanted a picture to balance out the cover to the movie.

Without going all TL;DR (in here and the secret) I was essentially refering to how the character herself (personality and past wise) is portrayed. They made essential changes to her past and character in the movies that I didn't agree with, it wasn't Lara to me, it was Lara 'lite' and I thought what they had was cliche and uninteresting. :\ But my friend worships the movies and Angelina Jolie so...ta da.

21. Silly rabbit, you're stuck in 2001! With the advent (no pun intended hurr hurr) of slash, people only give a shit about whether Proud Clod bones Zack or Sephiroth.

I miss old FFVII fandom :(

22. I like how everyone assumes this person means the Christian God.

[identity profile] some-kat.livejournal.com 2007-07-18 05:39 am (UTC)(link)
22. I like how you look over the "Noah and the Ark" reference that is normally associated with the Judeo/Christian faith.

Story-wise, I sided with Light. I'm a fucking sucker for anti-heroes.

Realistically, there isn't enough basis to agree with him. I'm non-religious but I do believe in a creator. I believe that there is a god out there of some sort but he's a bit of a sadist.

Yes, Kira was more effective. He got rid of most crime and wars. The flaw in his ruling was that people started taking it into their own hands on who deserved to live and who didn't. Take the police for shooting the shit out of Matt for instance. What if this were to happen in other countries where laws are more strict and oppressive? There are places where you can get your hand chopped off for stealing. There are places where men have more rights than women.

Does Kira have the power to change that? Or does he just want to get rid of crime in general, no matter what country or what laws they're under? How does he judge people from countries with lax drug laws?

In a way, he did become god - a very real one. I'm probably reading too much into this but I just wanted to say that I only agree with him to some extent. He would have my full support if I got to know his ideals a little better. We got a little taste of it when he was comparing his and Mikami's ideals.

To #15: Psst, hey, I have the Saturn, and I want those games. (I can play the import version of the sequel, thanks to a special cartridge.) If I could only find 'em, I'd probably be right there in the fandom with you.

[identity profile] enjolras.livejournal.com 2007-07-19 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
I think you're forgetting about a few things. Mainly:

Free will.
You don't HAVE to be a Christian or whatever if you don't want to.
God is merciful.

Kira fulfills neither of these qualities. :/
