Since today is apparently Avengers day, I've been thinking about starting to watch the Marvel movies. Which one do you think is the best for someone who doesn't really know the movieverse?

Captain America and Thor. The Iron Man films are nice as well.

Watch them in order? I think it helps some:

Iron Man
Iron Man II
Thor
Captain America

I may have botched the order of the last two but yes. Squeeze in Hulk somewhere around Iron Man, too.

I asked this just yesterday! Or was it the day before yesterday? Never mind, it's not important.

I was told that the best was Iron Man (which has the added bonus of being the first lead-in movie for Avengers), and then opinions differed on whether Thor or Captain America would be the best to watch.

I've watched Iron Man, and I liked it. I'll probably go with Thor next because I didn't find Captain America all that awesome in Avengers. The incredible Hulk seems to be on the bottom of everyone's list.

No. There was not nearly enough artist!Steve or Howard or Peggy. The only thing that made me smile during that movie was Tommy Lee Jones. I cry.

We just watched all of the Marvel movies this week (except Iron Man 2), and I think hands down Captain America was the best followed by Avengers, Iron Man 1, and then Thor. They were all really great, though. I love the way they interlock so nicely, and the character continuity is great. I saw Avengers first before I'd seen any of them but Iron Man 1 and as we were watching the others I kept going, "Ooooh, Barton! And Coulson!" :)
