Is it a WIP? Are you willing to take the good reviews with the bad ones? Or do you want to be fed compliments regardless of what you write?

Personally, I changed my review habits a couple of months ago. With very rare exceptions, I now alert a fic I'm interested in continuing, but only review or favorite after it's finished. I stumbled into reviewing chapter-by-chapter a couple of stories that started out well then descended into clumsy self-indulgent drivel. One I just stopped reviewing. One was so bad I left a negative review. I stand by my review, in fucking triplicate, but never wanted to deal with the stress of it again.

Yeah, I know that negative reviews are a huge no-no. Fuck it. I'm sick of the bullshit. If only positive reviews are the community standard (and that seems the norm) then I won't review until I'm sure I like it, which isn't until it's over. If i must must must review, then I'll review honestly. 'Cause I'm not anyone's parent, and not responsible for crutching their self-esteem until retirement. (Seriously, grow the fuck up.)

And if you can't write without being "properly appreciated", then stop. It's not like the Internet isn't crowded enough.
