am I the only one who thinks celebrities generally wouldn't be the type to feel scandalized over how someone on the internet wrote stories featuring their peepee or vajayjay

I can only picture them finding it and at worst going "ahaha that's weird and kind of awkward, o internet" and then getting a bagel or something

No, you're not the only one.

It's probably weird at first to think about someone fantasizing about you, but... once you know that it happens I don't really get why you'd be upset. I mean you can't really control other people's wanking, and writing down fantasies may not be exactly the same as masturbating, yeah, but... really the whole thing seems like people assuming they can control others' sexual thoughts and that's creepier than any fic anyone can come up with, IMO.

I'm sure people have thought about me having sex in ways or with people I'd never have sex with. I'm sure this happens infinitely more often to celebrities, as most people don't know who I am.

looool now I can totally imagine it, especially in one of my fandoms. I know for sure it's very much so in the character of one of the persons shipped.

This. Of course, I don't know what fandom you're talking about, but in one of mine there's an actor that I could totally see being amused more than anything by learning that people ship him and his costar. Obviously I can't say for sure since I don't know him personally, but from what I know of his personality from interviews and whatnot, I can totally see him just not giving a fuck.

We're likely thinking of the same fandom. Considering all the other stuff these actors know about fandom, I would unsurprised if they knew about people who ship them and just didn't give a fuck.

I have a feeling it's the same actor, although maybe different fandoms. The popularity for the one I'm talking about has died down, but he's in a new one now, and although I'm not in it, I'm pretty sure there are probably people shipping him with his costars from it. Although I think I remember reading something about one of his costars in the new fandom that makes me think he probably wouldn't be too bothered by RPS, either.

This is getting confusing, lol, but yeah...I doubt actors would be all that scandalized by people shipping them considering all the other crazy stuff fandom does.

I saw this pretty much happen on twitter one time - celebrity found pornfic on AO3, started a hashtag and tweeting lulz about it, I was staring at the screen through my fingers thinking it was all going to kick off... but it never really did, and then in an interview afterwards he was saying about how he found it weird and amusing in equal measure and (given relative fame levels) was really rather flattered that anybody would even bother putting pen to paper about him and his colleagues, even if it was pretty weird.

Celebrities finding out about RPF skeeves me out so hard, but in that case it was like... Happy End? Sort of? *shrugs*

That would depend on the celebrity, wouldn't it? Some are very private and I could easily see them feeling creeped by RPF.

Yeah, it probably depends on the celeb. Some would be amused, others wouldn't be.

Speaking from my own perspective, I think I'd be amused at most of it, but skeeved if it was super violent and misogynist and non-consenting. Even then, though, I probably would only get REALLY freaked out if folks started stalking me. You have the right to your fantasies, but that right ends where my actual body begins.
