Yeah... I was pretty uncomfortable with the advice given too. Particularly since I just went through the experience of an ex who had previously asked my husband to leave me for her (my way-too-naive-for-his-own-good husband writing it off as her just being drunk despite all the freaking signals that she was serious) popped back up with this elaborate story of how she had been pregnant with his child when they broke up and miscarried and how he should come back to her because!!! (And, without going into huge amounts of detail that are not necessary, it is incredibly unlikely this is true between timing and how anal retentive the man is about using condoms... he kinda freaked out at me when I wanted to just rely on birth control pills.)

... yeeeeeeeeah.

So, the advice really struck me the wrong way, although in Pema's circumstances, it probably seemed more reasonable (since it sounded like from what Tenzin said, the relationship was troubled and nearly at an end anyway).
