So guys, I don't know how to find Japanese fandom. I've gotten into some Japanese series that aren't available in English, and I want to get into those fandoms with people who have consumed the original and know what they're talking about. But I have no idea where to start looking for Japanese fandom online. Help?

I'm in particular looking for any big fanfic sites, news/info sites, and any major online hubs for BL/yuri/visual novels/light novels. But anything would be appreciated!

(I have the feeling that someone is going to ask the question despite its obvious answer, so I'll answer it just to be safe: yes, I know Japanese.)

Oh, um, well, I'm just guessing here since I've never checked that out myself, but I think you could google things like the names of the series you like (in Japanese), and have on advance settings "show only results from country: Japan", and then see if you can find your way through webrings, or whatever is in vogue in Japanese fansites these days.

try looking around big sites like pixiv / nicovideo / 2chan and finding relevant categories as well!

This is a stab in the dark, but try googling for relevant terms from Google's Japanese homepage. I don't know how far that will get you, but perhaps it will be a start?

you can try searching for specific fanfic and fanart by using google.co.jp or something similar. try イラスト　or 小説　with the fandom you're looking for and maybe you'll find something. 面白いサイト見つけたら教えてください:)
