Why hold yourself back? Just call the cunts.

Because SJWs would jump down their throats and tear out their innards for even uttering the word. No matter the context.

So...
Why hold yourself back? Just call them cunts.

Better yet... LAME CUNTS

Call out the little mewling quims. Silence=acceptance - if a secret smacks of having been submitted by a penis penitentiary, then by all means, say so.

I retract my statement above. Cunt is nice but mewling quim is just the classy way to call out a motherfucker.

I know the feeling. Some people? Just *are*. And it's the only word that will adequately describe my level of loathing for them.

Ann Coulter springs instantly to mind.

too big

I'm glad you refrain. Insulting people gives very short-lived satisfaction. It's so more fun (and less likely to backfire) to be infallibly polite.
cloud_riven: Close-up of an open-mouthed piglet! Is it recoiling? Or side-eyeing? Maybe saying, "HEY YOU TWO SHOULD KISS"? Mystery! (eeeeeeehhhhhh)

I for one am very appreciative of your self restraint. I know some people like the word or don't mind it, but I find it to be one of the most hurtful disgusting insults to throw out. I physically recoil and my heart speeds up and I have a little panic when people throw that word at me. So while I'm not going to play word police and say you shouldn't ever use it, I do appreciate people refraining from using that word.

I personally never really cared for the word but it didn't affect me until I actually had someone use it against me in extreme anger and it shocked me how viscerally it scared me. Ever since then I get a little nauseous hearing/seeing it used.

That's sort of what happened to me. I've had it used against me a couple of times and always it's a group of men using it against me in a very angry tone. It freaks me out. The first time it was more shock that they'd even use the word and then mixed with the pure anger behind it...yeah, I get a little nauseous and panicked when I hear or read it.

I have a super negative reaction to it too. I've been called it many times, and not in a casual "ey youse cunts come have a beer" way, but in a hateful "you are our fuck vessel" way. There's a lot of hate in the word as an insult.

I will use it in sex as a hot sexy word, and have stencilled it on many walls with love hearts around it, or "I ♥ my cunt" Suddenly walls that have had all this offensive shit over them for years are painted over when that goes on there.

In fiction I don't mind it being used, if it's obviously meant to be a vile misogynist thing to say.

I'm glad they have self restraint also. That word is actually kinda triggering to me. :/

Re: TB

(Anonymous) 2012-06-28 10:52 am (UTC)(link)
Also, it's really unimaginative. Think up some different insults. There are more swear words/insults in the English language than "fuck", "bitch" and "cunt".

I think they're all like based on history or something. Like The Tudors and such. I don't know what the specific shows are though.

See, part of the problem with some of the shows you put up there is that, well. Various relationships in them actually happened, and they've been written about so often that there's as much fiction as fact to them. So in those cases it's like telling someone 'I ship you with your wife'...which isn't anywhere near as likely to creep someone out as 'I ship you with the person you hate!'

This. Those shows are NOT the first representations of those people and their stories - at this point some of it almost verges on mythology. So no, I don't think you can equate them with RPF. The element of fiction already existed before them.

[personal profile] velvet_mace 2012-06-28 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
The problem with RPF is that the subject (and their relatives) can actually read and have an emotional reaction to the story. Dead people are dead, they don't care. They have no emotional reactions, they can't be hurt. Dead people who are so long dead that they have no living relative or friend that actually remembers them are doubly not going have an objection.

So no, it's not the same.

they can't if it's guarded from them.

Historical fiction is not the same as RPF.

For one thing, the characters in historical fictions are kind of... well... dead.

For another thing, a lot of the time, they're SO LONG dead, the truths about their lives aren't known ANYWAY. Most people with brains take it for granted that stories based on historic figures are extrapolations of whatever is known, or outright fabrications.

In any event, historical fiction cannot be slanderous and cannot be discovered by the real people in it and creep them out or piss them off.

Sooo... not really hypocritical in any way shape or form, no.
