Re: 16
Not to say I haven't read and loved those, but seriously. Seriously, come on.
Re: 16
Re: 16
This does nothing to change the fact that those books are advertising for RPG sourcbooks/Mormon propaganda.

Re: 16
Re: 16
Really, are they making movies out of the series? Because that's going to hurt.

Re: 16
"Lifelong friends, they went their separate ways. Now they are together again, though each holds secrets from the others in his heart. They speak of a world shadowed with rumors of war. They speak of tales of strange monsters, creatures of myth, creatures of legend. They do not speak of their secrets. Not then. Not until a chance encounter with a beautiful, sorrowful woman, who bears a magical crystal staff, draws the companions deeper into the shadows, forever changing their lives and shaping the fate of the world."

Q: Would the secret in question have been even funnier if instead of "Dragonlance", the poster had said "Mercedes Lackey"? NO ONE WILL EVER KNOW

Re: 16
*cough* It's sad that most of the reading I did last year was on aff.net. WHAT? IT COUNTS.

Not funnier, but you'd have a hoard of yaoi fangirls who'd approve that decision over the DragonLance one. *ducks fangirl punches*

Re: 16

Re: 16
I have to see this movie now.
Re: 16
Re: 16
...I mean, if it even comes out in theaters.
......which I doubt, somehow.

Re: 16
I didn't even know Tracy Hickman was Mormon until well after I'd gotten into the series. Just 'cause one of the authors is Mormon doesn't mean they're peddling their religion. Orson Scott Card is Mormon, and the Ender's Game books sure don't read like Mormon stuff.
That said, I agree with the original comment. I'd rather see Memory, Sorrow and Thorn as a series of movies than I would Dragonlance. And Harry Potter can crawl in a hole and die any time now. Hell, I'd much rather Hollow Kingdom was made a movie instead of Dragonlance.
Re: 16
IT'S COOL, SOME OF MY BEST FRIENDS ARE MORMON

Re: 16
We found Dragonlance novels on top of the old Penthouse Forum issues in the bathroom cabinets when we bought our house, lol
