oh and for the record, i do believe that tigger warnings are imporant, FOR THINGS THAT ARE ACTUALLY TIGGERING, but not for things like couch cushions for example.

I...honestly only liked Coraline in the Movie version. I think adding Wybie helped a lot. The hate/like dynamic was fun to watch, and Other!Wybe's death was so sad.

Well, I'm exactly the opposite: Pepper/Tony romance squicks the hell out of me and I can't enjoy IM2 because of how they're portrayed. Ugh.

I agree - I'm not even sure why we need to know about Korra's extended family (Well, of course not, I have to wait for the show to come back.)

I didn't pay close attention to the panel at last year's con, but I don't think we got much more beyond what was explained there, based on reading second hand accounts.

Where does this "I'm too old for this show" come from? If you enjoy a show then you are not too old for it. Besides, Dan Schneider's shows are notorious for getting crap past the radar anyway so there's bound to be things you enjoy in their.

I wouldn't say they're bad, but iconic for its time-- and very advanced for what film making was back then. It would be very hard to release something like the original trilogy to today's audiences and have it explode at the level it did back then. Film has evolved since then.

They are, however, still incredibly enjoyable and masterworks as film. Then again, I'm someone who still believes that models and makeup are way more effective than CGI.

For secret #1 here: Don't feel bad. I was sexually assaulted at a club once and yet I write and read noncon. All victims of abuse process things differently, and sometimes we gravitate towards noncon works. There's nothing wrong with being an abuse survivor and liking noncon works. Like you said, as long as you don't condone rape IRL, you're still a good person.

To use examples from comics/movies...nobody thought that Tony Stark or Bruce Wayne needed to be the victims of sexual violence to go from being entitled to badass.

So, I'm still shoutin' fuck the people who wrote this game. Trauma? Fine, bring it on. But it doesn't have to be the gendered sort that's slipped in to passive-aggressively put ladies in their place.

Heeee, this secret is doubly amusing to me because just today I went hunting for all the episodes of this show since I got tired of shipping solely via Tumblr gifsets. So, you know, you are not alone, anon (and FTR, I'm 24). From what I've seen, they have the kind of subtext I'd KILL to have between certain characters in some "adult" shows I watch, so that's probably why I find it so awesome and addicting and it's easy to ignore the fact that it's a KIDS SHOW on Nick.

I personally disagree, but to each their own. I think given the fact that it was straight up trying to emulate the feel of the old adventure serials is an excuse for some of the cheesiness, but I think they were made very well, not just for their special effects but for the story and plot. The character arc of Han Solo, for example, is still one of my favorites.

Lots of things have changed since the original trilogy was made, some film conventions, but they're still incredibly watchable movies, far better than the prequels.

I was never a fan of Ironman [sic] comics. Didn't see Ironman [sic] in the theaters. Saw it only because a friend and I were bored and it was on Netflix... INSTANT LOVE. I am now super, super addicted to Tony/Pepper. I love the characters. I love their banter. I love all their scenes. I was even more stoked when I found out that both RDJ and Jon Favreau were huge supporters of the pairing. AND it made an appearance in The Avengers. I've been anticipating the midnight screening of IM3 ever since I saw the end of IM2.

I'm now super worried though. With Favreau not in the driver's seat and them pulling from the Extremis storyline (which I love the concept of, but Tony/Pepper is not canon in the comic!) I'm worried that this is going to end up destroying my ship and I don't think I could even see the movie. I definitely can't see the midnight screening; will have to send a friend to go see it and screeen [sic] it first so they can tell me if Tony/Pepper stays together. Or I won't see it :(

tl;dr - I can't go see IM3 unless I'm certain it won't kill my ship. SUperhero Movies: I'm doing them wrong.

In all seriousness there are things about the original trilogy that just hasn't aged well and all of Lucas 'improvements' haven't helped.
