From my experience, the people that tend to hate Luke either A) haven't really played the game or B) are guys.

I see him get bashed a lot at the gamefaqs boards. It seems that a lot of them see Luke's desire to change as nothing but him being emo, lol. Nevermind his emotional growth, he's depressed! How dare he!

Then again, the people on gamefaqs' boards don't have much intelligence to speak of, so... yeah :p Most female fans of the game I know (including myself) looooove Luke. And I don't get how anyone can resist him. He's so adorable! Out of any RPG I've played, I think he's one of the best developed main characters ever. I got emotionally attached, too T___T

23. I've never read Discworld, but from what a friend tells me they're fantastic. And she reads Harry Potter too. I love Harry Potter, but it's not wrong to love something else more.

1- Jackie Chan is totally one the of bestest Western-made cartoons EVER. It was just so cracky and awesome. I never seem to be able to catch it on telly now though D:

23- As long as I've read HP, I must agree~! I've only read a couple of Discworld books but they've all been ten times better then even the third book. You should try and convince your rabid HP-sexing fans to read some Discworld, and then they'll know the truth~!

3.) The reason? Teenyboppers who cannot write. Anime / manga fandom is absolutely full of them, and old hands like myself have had to retreat to different fandoms. -_-

6.) That happens with uncomfortable frequency. There must be something about that type of writing that brings the gifted Marquis de Sade types out of the woodwork.

9.) (That there has to be a BO check in the first place makes me slightly ashamed of being a part of con-going fandom. Anime / manga fans with bad BO are the #1 reason I shower with OCD-like frequency.)

10.) ZOMG Yuna in FFXII. Oh, wait, it's Ashe.

14.) Oh, Disgaea 2 Axel is loads of fun. I take great joy in kicking his ass, blowing him up, etc. :-) Check him out in the manga, too!

24.) *patpat* S'okay, Nomura's generated a lot of conflicting reactions in the RPG world. Me? I've never liked him, but he always has at least one character design per game that jumps right up at me (Quistis and Auron being my two favorites).

I guess I'm the only one this doesn't bother because my flist is made up of mature writers and fans from anime and manga fandoms.

considering I go to a science fiction convention every year, where the anime/manga representation is fairly low, I find the implied assumption that it's just anime fans who suffer from bad BO and poor hygiene laughable and insulting all at once.

they are all over fandoms, not just anime.

I spend every waking moment of playing Disgaea fangirling over him. When he joined up with me to save whatsizface's little bro (I actually forgot the main character's name, oh wow), I was filled with excessive amounts of joy when he joined me in killing stuff. That guitar move is made of pure unbridled awesome.
