I haven't had an actual flying dream outside of one where I was tied to a kite and someone was flying me in a thunderstorm but I couldn't see who it was because they were standing in a forest.

I have all of these elements in dreams too and when stressed I always have these dreams that I can take a running start and glide a little before tumbling back down and having to try again and basically trying to cover distance with these funny little airborne hops.

The closest I've ever gotten to a flying dream is the one I have where I'm flying above a crowd that is trying to drag me down and I suddenly start losing altitude.

Maybe it is generalizing, but I can see male-dominated areas of fandom not talking about shipping or problematic things in the show. I don't mind it so much because it's relieving to know when I'm not the only one uncomfortable with those problematic things.

I really don't like it though when people get the idea that girls only talk about shipping and social justice in fandoms. I enjoy where I am in my little pocket of the fandom because everyone(all girls) talk about the plot, action, animation, characters along with shipping and discussion of problematic things. :\

Yeah me too sometimes. There are still some series/authors I read, but for the most part I don't read as much as I used to anymore. Part of it is the money factor and part of it is the fact that I can find what I want easier with fanfic.

Most anybody else hang out in male dominated fandoms? What's the stupidest wanky argument you've ever seen? For me it's got to be F.E.A.R., for sure. Massive, sprawling edit war on the wiki complete with catty insults and furious locking-unlocking over whether or not Stokes' hair is dirty blonde or golden brown.

Bara is awful in the completely opposite direction. Everyone looks completely roided up and weird. Western porn has a lot of the issues you mention as well. People just like to pick at BL more because it's target audience is female :\

it might help if you practice lucid dreaming and focus on the idea of flying. here are the tips that helped me:

in my experience the best time to lucid dream is during the day. if you're really really tired and take a daytime nap you're more likely to be able to control your dreams. and that is sweet as fuq.

I can only really fly when I'm lucid dreaming. Otherwise, I have to struggle mightily to get off the ground -- it's like even in a dream world where I'm supposed to be able to fly, real physics have to intrude, all like "YO THAT IS ACTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE." I always have to take a running leap off a balcony or a steep hillside or something.
