I haven't even seen the Death Note anime, and I can already tell you that I absolutely like the second half better than the first.

Don't know why, but I just haven't been able to find any affection for J-Pop in my shrivelled little soul.

I agree with this. I don't always change my characters when I realize they're too similar to people in my fandoms, or really popular things, but I do dislike having other people point out the comparison. Especially when they assume right off the bat it's not a coincidence and you're copying. Got that the last time I mentioned one of my villains. Then again, I may have brought that on myself for writing an evil vizier and telling people about her when I'm also openly a Jafar fan. Yeah, I know it's not an original concept. I know it's a stereotype that dates back to ancient Egypt. But saying I'm directly copying Jafar, instead of just using an archetype? I can do without that bit.

Yeah...I hate consuming a movie/book/anime/manga/cereal box which has a rather large fandom and then going "awwww, shit" because one of the characters in my novel might be accused of being a copy. D:

15. Good Ol' Tenchi, Saber Marionette J & Ranma 1/2. :3 They're some of my FAVORITES. I feel the same way, I LOVE them as long as they have a different plot. Try Ai Yori Aoshi if you haven't already. :3 It's one of my favorites and it's a really unknown series but it's really good for a harem series.

SABER MARIONETTE FRIGGIN' J. This is like one of my favorite anime evar. XD And the thing about it that really strikes me as original about it is the inclusion of a man within the "harem."

Yes, Hanagata's used for most of the series as comic relief, and no, they don't treat him very well as a gay man, but then... something bizarre happens at the end of Saber Marionette J to X. It's up to interpretation and the fanboys of this series will fight you tooth and nail about it, but I really, honestly think that Hanagata ends up with Otaru at the end. (I'd explain more in depth, but a) spoilers lol and b) this is tl;dr as it is. X3)

4 - I got into the fandom late as well, it makes me sad I missed all the big stuff apart from the 7th book coming out.

7 - ME TOO! Now I get so pissed off by the cheap bread in supermarkets. "THIS WAS NOT HAND MADE WITH LOVE! I PUNCH IT AND IT STAYS SQUISHED!"

11 - I've always found it kinda creepy too, though the photoshopper in me is impressed with some people's skill.
