Count me among the people who want to read this! =) Looks like the majority so far is that it's a pretty good idea. I hope you post it somewhere, someday! =D

11. Everyone is saying it's creepy. I think it's awesome, and I can't stop staring at it. 8D

Wow, Ranma, Tenchi, and Saber Marionettes J. That's pretty old-school.

I remember the days when RAAC was essentially solely devoted to Ranma fic, and if you know what I'm talking about, you're a BIG NERD.

Also, you kids with your "ship wars" ain't seen nothing compared to the debates on RAAC. Nobody can out-pedant a 38-year-old Ranma fan, lemme tell you.

Re: Also 15

[identity profile] samuraiter.livejournal.com 2007-08-01 11:15 am (UTC)(link)
... indeed, this is so, and that makes me all the happier that RAAC is dead and many of its former inhabitants have been hauled off by the nice men in white coats ...

5. Yay Insecticomics love! Poor Dreadmoon.

18. What anime is this? I keep seeing it pop up but I haven't managed to catch the name of it so far.

YOU DON'T KNOW HOW HAPPY IT MAKES ME TO SEE THAT SECRET. T_T

I'm not the Near but I'm the Mello at that RPG and I've had the most fun EVER with her Near because I HAVE NEVER SEEN ONE PLAYED THAT WELL and it's just absolutely brilliant.

Actually that was the first Near I ever found and I do think it probably saved me a LOT of pain with many Death Note role players out in the abyss of the Internet. It honestly bothers me when I see people play Near badly -- but technically I'm being biased because ever since joining that place, any Near that I see NOT played like that I believe is wrong. OH WELL.

The L is to die for, as well. AND THE LIGHT. Damn, I just love the whole cast.

ANYWAY I'LL STOP RAMBLING NOW BUT Near if you see this-- c_c/ ♥

[identity profile] distant-genius.livejournal.com 2007-08-01 06:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE

I have to add in my two cents.

Near on Sendoff is amazing. Amazing. Fantastic writer, very thoughtful characterization. And in a complete contrast to the character played, the player themselves is always a pleasure to talk with.

So is Light, who jumped into the game in the middle of an overcomplicated, disgustingly convoluted plotline and proceeded to give me a run for my money. Who plays the dynamic between our characters to the hilt, bringing to the game a creative mind that keeps the twists and turns coming.

Then there's Mello, who since the day I joined Sendoff has impressed me numerous times with their portrayal of the character. I confess to having an unhealthy fascination with the plentiful ways they've found to describe varying degrees of tension and aggression.

It being the first time I'd ever actually gone through with applying into a Death Note cast somewhere, I have to say I seriously lucked out.

1. reminds me of someone who totally draws like kubo tite. they openly worship him and his art, but don't like it when their art is compared to his. it's obvious that his style has influenced theirs tho! there is srsly no denying it. it's clear as fucking day. especially the copic work. but i digress.

in your case, i don't see the problem being compared to published works. everything's been fucking done anyway, you're not gonna be any more original than someone else. there is always something that reminds you of something else. i mean, i guess if you're told your character acts exactly like so-n-so from this manga/anime/tv show/comic book whatever, it would make you want to switch things up a bit, but if it's just one facet to the character then let them share it! there's no harm in that. stop trying so hard to be a unique snowflake. :I

16) ...I haven't seen Death Note, but because of this secret, I really want to watch it now (okay I was curious about it before but this is only encouraging me)

[identity profile] yummycoffee.livejournal.com 2007-08-01 10:57 am (UTC)(link)
2. Uhhhhm...so do you just fail at in-person face-to-face relationships as opposed to online ones or what? Are you not doing things relevant to your interests?? Is this even a real secret??? I don't believe you are really that pathetic!

9. There's definitely nothing wrong with being part of the fandoms of your interests. But there is a difference between having interests and your interests having you. >_>

20. HOW DO WE KNOW YOUR MOM IS EVEN DEAD? PROOF OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN. :)

22. Pft, saying nice things doesn't make you a nice person. Nice words can come out of your mouth while you're thinking the exact opposite. Actions speak louder than any word ever could.

[identity profile] samuraiter.livejournal.com 2007-08-01 11:14 am (UTC)(link)
2 & 9.) *applause*

15.) If you can admit to it, I can admit to it. Harem anime are a guilty pleasure of mine, though I do not see them as exploitative. It is as you say: The women are almost always strong, interesting characters, but they have a thing for this poor nebbish of a guy who most likely wants to be left alone. (I do not count Ranma as harem; Takahashi stuff is its own infinite loop category.) And yes, the more women, the better. Variety wins. :-)

[identity profile] starrithenegg.livejournal.com 2007-08-01 11:22 am (UTC)(link)
17. Oh my God, yes. I follow that RP too (I don't have the time anymore to actually play...), and BEST NEAR EVER.

15-Before I had a change in taste, Tenchi was my biggest obsession (for years). I still love that series to pieces. I was a BNF of sorts (under a different name) and I have so many happy memories of it. XD

16-...Man, the second theme was terrible.

22- Well, the X fandom is full of them, you must fit in nicely. Oh fuck, is that your fandom and do I know you? o.O

I started out at Paradisa right at the beginning. I liked it, even though the number of characters spiked and that terrified me. I went on hiatus for a while, and came back to find crack.

There are muns and characters there that I loved and damned if the DGM people didn't convince me to start reading the series, but yeah, you got it right, OP.
