I'm a straight female, and I think she is gorgeous. I'd honestly say she is very attractive, but she is significantly (by tv standards anyway) older than the other companions, which is why I think people might say she isnt.

How heteronormative. (Kidding.)

Objectively speaking, I think she is pretty attractive. She's not a wispy twenty-something like the rest of the New Who companions, but that doesn't mean she's not attractive. And she is my favourite for the snark and personality alone.

IDK I wouldn't really call Billie Piper wispy. Not by entertainment world standards, at least.

I know a few people who hated Donna because they hated The Cathering Tate Show and the feeling sort of bled through. Irrational perhaps, but I think sometimes if you go into something with a bad attitude it skews perception.

Eh, some people found her boistrousness obnoxious, not so much her looks but her voice and attitude.
I found her refreshing and a much needed change from "twenty-something Earth girl falls in love with the Doctor." And how she'd call Ten out on stuff and didn't put up with his shit and slapped him upside the head and gave him hugs and was wonderfully platonic with him.

I'm not a particular fan of hers, Catherine Tate seems fine but her sketch shows really grate on me and that bled over into me being able to enjoy her properly but she's my bf's favorite companion.

My SO didn't like her for that exact reason. I'm more drawn to personalities than looks and when someone is as badass as Donna, I can easily be attracted to them.

Who doesn't like Donna? That honestly doesn't compute for me. I can see not liking her in the Christmas Special, though personally I adored her right from the beginning. But I honestly can't understand disliking her in season 4. I mean, yes, I understand that different people have different opinions. And there's nothing exactly wrong with not liking her. I just don't get it at all.

Is there seriously ANYONE out there Male or Female, who ~doesn't~ like Donna?!?!? There's just no way. She's one of my all time favorite Companions. Not liking her, frankly makes zero sense to me. *Head-Scratch*

Haters to the left, Catherine Tate is gorgeous.

Donna/Catherine is my favourite/the most gorgeous Who companion and I DO NOT UNDERSTAND anyone who says she's 'not attractive'.

(That said, the strongest contender for hottest companion is the great Sarah Jane herself, but from School Reunion/SJA - I don't usually have a thing for older women, but in Doctor Who (Harriet Jones, Adelaide Brooke) there's plenty to choose from.)

I could see how people would dislike her for her personality, so I wouldn't assume her looks had to do with it right off the bat.

I love the fact that she's average looking, I wish more shows would have female characters like that.

Bluh, it's so judgey, but I have definitely thought this too with a couple RL whovians.

What if, regardless of gender, you don't give a shit what she looks like, you just think she's intolerably fucking obnoxious?

Because... that's why *I* can't stand her. I'd feel exactly the same whether she looked like Queen Latifah or Chunk from The Goonies. I can't stand her because she's HER, not because of her face.

...she's not? Coulda fooled me.

Some boys I know just don't like her because she's loud and rude and steps over the their perception of the companion line sometimes. It has nothing to do with her appearance, just her personality and their opinion on how a companion should act.

Donna is the bee's knees.

I didn't really care for her character in general. She was annoying at times. Sure, she was great sometimes, but overall, I prefer any of the other companions to Donna. She was just too obnoxious.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm a straight man and I thought Donna was by far the sexiest of the New Who companions. Her body's just so much more my type (seriously, those boobs), her hair's gorgeous, and I love her attitude. Smart, self-possessed, but a little vulnerable underneath... yum.

I realize that her narrative role is ultimately more important than her sex appeal, but hey, that's the point under discussion. And after all, considering the way male actors get talked about in this community, I trust y'all will forgive me when I say that yes, I would jump on Donna like my name was Super Mario.

I'm gonna have to agree 100%. Some guy I know on another site posted a gif set of Donna saying something teasing him about the Tardis and comparing it to a fancier ship. And he was like "This is why I hate Donna" and I'm like...Because she doesn't worship the ground he walks on and doesn't sexualizes him and treats him like a friend? Yes that's what makes you hate her. BULLSHIT.
