14. The more sex I have, the more I want to write great porno. But I get too busy, you know, umm, gettin' busy. But I catalog things away for future fictional use!

12. lol, ilu and your art.

13. I see where you're coming from. There's been some fictional characters I've desperately wished were real, but as long as you remember the distinct line between fiction and reality, I think you're in good shape. You can be in love with someone who isn't real and not be totally batshit.

21. Haha, I've always wanted to get a rabbit and name it Usagi (or Momiji!). My sister named hers Ein. :3

Re: 12, 13, 21

[identity profile] athenaltena.livejournal.com 2007-08-18 04:06 pm (UTC)(link)
I actually named my car Usagi, since it sort of looked like a rabbit. NO REGRETS.

1. WAIT, HE ISN'T!?!?!?!? :O LIES AND CALAMY.

3. NONSENSE, FAT PEOPLE SHOULD STAY IN THEIR HOUSES... GETTING FATTER. But seriously, you should go for it! If you're that worried, make a list of scathing, self-possessed remarks you can shoot back whenever someone comments on your weight! :D *thumbs up*

7. You mean 'The Silmarillion'? I feel a little like this sometimes, but we all do it. :P

[identity profile] aviy.livejournal.com 2007-08-12 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
14. "I liked fandom... and then I got laid." I approve of this secret.

18. It's not hard! You understand the concept, right? Love the characters? You don't have to be a writer or even into the fandoms! Know the character, love them, pay attention to voice, opinions, try to understand their mindset. Roleplay is all about doing your very best to play a character in a situation they never encounter in their canon, and finding out what happens! I mean, there's ettiquette. There's different formats. Some people write in prose, so RP is more like interactive fanfiction, some people just do dialog and keep actions *like this*. And it might be a little scary if you've never RPd before, but I say? Just... watch! Lurk a bit, find a place you'd like to play, think of who you would play and what they might think about it. And then app! Have fun, app someone you love so you will want to be as IC as possible, represent them to your best and... otherwise? Don't worry about it. It's a game. And of course, everyone always wants to play well, but it's still a game and one should have fun.

.......also I desperately crave the entire ToA cast over at CFUD so you know. THERE IS AN OPTION THERE /o/

Show of Hands for Secret #1

How many other players of The Game are there here, then? *raises hand* I've been one since the age of eight -- before I knew that there were other Players out there. I wanted him to be real that desperately.

You could always join us, #1. It's dreadful fun, really.

You just made me lose the other Game :(

That's kind-of vague. I mean, I can think of several things/people that you might mean by "squeebot", but what specifically annoys you about our shippers? I'm not being sarcastic. I really am curious. Explain maybe?

I know there are a lot of those fangirl-ish, bad fanfic writers over at paire_love (and me saying that now means that this comment has to be anon), but is it more than just that? Is it the finding connections in anything and everything even when they aren't there? Or the corny fanvids? Or just the "ZOMG Paire is so adorable *squee*" comments?

Re: 19

[identity profile] aratama.livejournal.com 2007-08-12 01:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not the OP and I don't ship Peter/Claire, but the fact that you had to go anon just because you had the audacity to say there's badfic within your fandom ... speaks volumes about your fandom.

3. The scary and sad thing is, I thin you are right. People on the internet can be very judgemental, and it's a terrifying concept. However, a lot of cosplayers get that, overweight or otherwise.

People will always find a fualt with others, weather it be fat, red hair, freakles... or even too good looking.

I know it's easier said than done. But, life's too short to let spiteful and narrow minded oppinions stop you from doing the things you would really love to do. And, when you get the courage up to cosplay, you just have as much fuin as you can with it!

There are a few people out there amoungst the people who ridicule you, who wont. Some will just be happy you had the confidence to do it. So... good luck. <3

18. I think that it's difficult if your friends are all good roleplayers. The only way you can experement with roleplay is just to try. everyone is a little lame at it when they first start off. As long as you enjoy yourself though, you will only get better. The more people you roleplay with, the more you pick up ways of doing it that suit you.

You can make your own characters, or try to get into the character of anime characters and such like who you relate to.

In the end though, I'd say it's something really great to do! Especially if you like writing and escaping from yourself from time to time.

10. 'Hime is the first anime girl I've loved in almost five years.

13. .....are you who I think you are? XDD;; I think its your font. And the fact all your secrets look so pretty.

21. I named my mp3 player after him. XD He's just adorable. *pinches his cheeks*

Mehbeh... That's only my second secret, though. My icons are pretty popular for that and the YGO fandom, though.

OHSNAP, I SAID TOO MUCH

1.) Me, too. -_-

3.) Hn. The core problem, perhaps, is that practically every anime character -- the females, particularly -- is as thin as a sewing needle. :-\ Cosplay gets praised for how close it comes to looking like the original character, but that standard is inherently unfair to about 90% of the fan population. IMO, if it makes you nervous and uncomfortable to the point of dreading what might show up on the Internet, do not do it.

4.) Captain Underpants saves the world for everybody, not just the kids.

8.) It's the gift that keeps on giving, as they say.

10.) (Here's a mini-secret: I don't even read Bleach, but I like Orihime anyway, possibly because so many people don't.)

12.) Whoa. Paint can be used for good or for evil.

14.) Congrats on being able to get some. ^_^ Most of us aren't so lucky.

[identity profile] dropsofgleam.livejournal.com 2007-08-12 12:18 pm (UTC)(link)
1) Another oine who wishes he was real.

2) I admit it; I fell for it. And even now, I think it wasn't a funny joke. IT NEEDED MORE LULZ, RLY. :/

10) *uses Orihime icon* I swear, this is one of the anime/manga characters that have touched my heart the most. The scene in my icon also makes me bawl my heart out... *huggles 'Hime* My baby, you're so underappreciated.

17- HEAVE HO BLAH BLAH NEVER SHALL WE DIE AND ALL THAT SHIZZLE. MAYO WILL LIVE FOREVER.

18- The key to RPing is to jump right in! As long as you reckon you 'know' the character you play pretty well, all shall go great! It's like writing a fic but a lot easier since youve got another person (or two, or three!) to play off. If you get right in there youll have lots of fun~!

20- LAWLAWLAWLAWL I WOULD TOTALLY READ THAT OMFG. PRINCESS TUTU IS WINNERIFIC AND ZEXY DANCING WOULD WIN AT LIFE. PLZ TO BE WRITING THIS?? :3

[identity profile] robinhood.livejournal.com 2007-08-12 03:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I totally know what you mean. I love cosplay for the sake of making and wearing costumes, but I'm not so much a fan of the getting my picture taken aspect. (Problem has been solved in the past by cosplaying obscure characters, with a decent result.)

14.

[identity profile] synthetyk.livejournal.com 2007-08-12 03:13 pm (UTC)(link)
14. Funny, that. I feel the exact opposite.

[identity profile] chelonianmobile.livejournal.com 2007-08-12 07:18 pm (UTC)(link)
#1 - who doesn't?

#16 - ... I do that, sort of. Except in my case it's usually with CDs, and it's not necessarily pairings. Sometimes I storyboard music videos involving my favourite characters/pairings/scenarioes, but I'm too lazy to draw them out. I'm not ashamed to admit this, though I probably should be.

14. ......XDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

dude behind me " someones got the right idea"

[identity profile] xreddestinyx.livejournal.com 2007-08-13 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
3. Just go for it! Work really hard on your costume and add lots of pretty little details. If you do that, you'll be amazing! :D

14. Woooooow. You must think you're hot snot on a silver platter, eh? Tch.

[identity profile] blackbubbletea.livejournal.com 2007-08-13 05:06 am (UTC)(link)
1. History would get a whole lot more awesome.

3. People are dumb. Do it and have fun!

12. AGREED.

14. You say that as if many of the participants in fandom can just go out and get laid if they feel like it. XD

16. Oh, me too.

[identity profile] theladytrinity.livejournal.com 2007-08-13 04:29 pm (UTC)(link)
1) Is that Data!Holmes? Cause that's who I wish was a real historical figure.

3) No, you're not too fat to cosplay. Nobody is. Some people are even too skinny to cosplay. The trick is to make it work for you. Choose a costume that flatters your body type and plays up the parts you're most proud of. Don't let fat wank hold you back; use what you've got and you'll look just fine. I've seen many an overweight cosplayer at Otakon that I've looked at and gone "damn, she did a good job with her costume, and she looks great in it!"

If you want to dress up and have fun, do it, and the hell with other people. This is what cons are for.

3- Well, I made a comment against that secret.
Don't let it bother you, if you want to do it, do it! =)

14- *twitch* Ew
....and the first person who replies thinking I'm saying 'ew' in reference to sex will be laughed at. =(

[identity profile] blitzbebe.livejournal.com 2007-08-14 05:10 pm (UTC)(link)
18. Seriously, I'm trying to write something like 'Roleplay Basics'. But I'm seriously having to scale the thing down because I'm anal about RPing. And the internet does not need more people who are as anal as I am.

Maybe I can help you learn how to RP. It's fairly easy (or at least I think so anyway). You can comment on this or you can email me about it sometime. I'd love to help.

3. This secret makes me so sad. Who cares if you're not skinny?! You have as much of a right to dress up as twiggy Barbie doll women!
I understand being squicked by 500-pound people in skin-tight bikinis, but bashing people who wear accurate costumes and just happen to be a plus-size is grade-A asshole behavoir and should be condemmed.
